  1. I cant tell from the pics. Do you have the package tray that goes under the glove box? If so I want it.
  2. I guess I'll go out and hook the hoses back up to the vacuum motor on the air cleaner.
  3. I started to desmog it a couple weeks ago and clean up the engine bay a little. Bead blasted volt reg box and valve cove and painted them black. Before After. New battery cables and wiper washer pump with motor. egr was fitting was completely plugged egr plug at the exhaust 16x1.5 before after I found one cracked hose on the anti backfire valve to the intake and all 4 carb nuts were loose but I couldn't tighten them with everything in the way. I took out the carb jet bolts and this is what they looked like. I couldn't get the jets out cause I dont have the right lengh screw driver to get to them yet. My temporary egr block off plate just to see if it runs and it does after I figured the bolt holes need to be plugged also. Shined up one rim and bought 4 new center caps from les schwab latest pic. I want to find a thermostat housing that doesn't have the check valve or can I leave it the way I routed it to the air cleaner?
  4. Yeah I can make my own shitty one but if one of you have some access to some machine tools let me know. laser or cnc or whatever. I will send a template and a payment. I tried one local machine shop and they wanted $100  The other machine shops I looked at deal with aircraft materials. If you know of a capable shop in my area please point. Thanks
  5. nice job. i searched valve adjustment and didnt see it. even typed in his name. the google master has failed. :(
  6. gap between the cam lobe and the rocker is correct. there is a video around here somewhere of mklotz adjusting valves but i cant find it. use thicker oil to quiet down that engine. make sure the feeler gauge says .008 .010 .012
  7. This will give you an idea on what a super clean 520 goes for. It hasn't ended yet but it will be between 4-6 g's. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260820950320&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT
  8. I love it. The rarer the rattier the better. I wonder if the engine turns. Great truck to drive around the farm. Great yard art/planter box. Mine was similar, if it had an engine I would have made it run and drove it just like it was. Damn I guess I was missing a windshield. I'd offer half the asking price.
  9. Welcome. you came to the right place. dont forget interior and engine bay pics. :)
  10. shining my rims. ugh!! 9 more to go and 2 to paint. I have a flury of steel whool floating around me.

  11. Dont delete anything Fig. I would rather read this than 99 percent of topics in the general section. I despise the general section. To me life is about telling stories to pass down experiences and knowledge from generation to generation which is something I'm poor at doing even within my own family. You aspire me to fix this about myself.
  12. What does it say on the door??
  13. Cool. Good to see more datsun owners from the land of smile. It looks like a right hand drive. Please post a interior photo. Is it a 1972?
  14. nice work. I was dying to see that cab cleaned out. be careful with that white heater knob on the heater box. If the valve is stuck you'll break the knob trying to turn it and they aint that easy to find. you got the radio and cig lighter. Is the floor mat beyund cleaning? That floor is in really great shape.
  15. thanks for the write up. you da man!
  16. welcome to ratsun. 521's rock. Now how about some more pics.
  17. I just seen this engine in person. Nice work Wayno. That power steering setup is cool. Sorry I didn't have more time to talk. I assume it passed the big test?
  18. if your interested in the second set on the bottom with the bent link let me know.
