    My new 521

haha. "I just get more". Thats what I'm talkin about. cool score on the truck.
  4. definitely let us know what you need. I'm always happy to see someone keep their 521 stock. Looks like your hood emblem is missing. The ones on ebay are really nice even though I think they're reproduction's. The package/parcel tray that goes under the glove box but may be hard to find. Some may not care to have it but I use mine alot. Are you thinking of A stock radio and speaker? Whatever you decide dont be afraid to ask.
  5. all the parts stores will tell you they can get them but they and all the manufactures of these so called available ones were made from the master catalog, which is wrong/incorrect.
  6. Awesome!! welcome aboard. I really like that truck. I spy original tailgate chains.
  7. It's a 66 single headlight 520 metal grill emblem. I cut some tabs off the back of the emblem and drilled some new holes in my hood. I can switch back to the original emblem if need be.
  8. Update 420n620 thanks for the e-brake handle jayden71 thanks for the wiper arm In the last few months I've-- Replaced the thermostat, was running a 160 for reasons I dont remember.190 for winter. Replaced the fuel filter which was filled with rust. Hogged out my wiper squirter holes to 1/16 cause they were clogging every few months. Put shielded wire connectors on my coil. Took care of the miss and erratic tach. New wires and plugs. my mud flaps link. As soon as I get some more rubber I'm gonna make some more. http://community.ratsun.net/topic/19965-made-some-oem-stlye-mud-flaps/page__p__277692__hl__%2Bmud+%2Bflaps__fromsearch__1#entry277692
  9. just curious, did you take those pics with a camera phone?
  10. grinch green. cool. i like how you painted the gauge needles.
  11. haha. bfh. hell yaah!! nice work. hopefully when income tax hits you'll still have a numbered 521 print to sell me :D
  12. I could have sworn I seen this thread locked recently. I like this thread. I've seen a few 510's lately, I need to be quicker with the camera!!
  13. "In that way" are the key words here. I remember jukism selling some 521 eyebrow trim gaskets way back for a ridiculous amount of cash. Did I chime in and tell him he was crazy and they'd never sell? No I just laughed to myself and said nothing. Would someone have got ripped off at the price he was asking? I guess that's debatable to a point but I think not. Everything is worth what someone will pay, cheap or expensive. If the price is too high for you than move on. No need to be over opinionated about stuff.
  14. With the adapter the hood wont close. At least on a 521. Which means 320/520/521/620 I bought one and now it just sits. Might work on a 620 but I doubt it.
  15. Dude seriously you have to learn from your own mistakes. if ratsuners steer a fellow his whole life they'll never learn. everybody over pays on things in life once in a while. That's how you learn not to do it again. If I have something in the for sale section and you came along and said it could be had elsewhere for cheaper or it's not worth what I'm asking you should be banned. Its not your business to look out for people in that way.
  16. It's just a biproduct of today's instant gratification society. An opinion is like an asshole, everybody has one. People have no discipline anymore to shut the hell up if it's not positive. It's sooo easy to talk shit online nobody has any inhibitions. I reserve myself a lot for these reasons. I've said it before and I'LL say it again. These are the reasons the purest's stay away from these sites. I mean christ look at the realm. Hopefully it never gets that bad here. peace.
  17. anyone know the correct name for those tapered pins???
  18. I wanted to do that soooo bad but dont have the time tools or skills. :(
  19. I did my other 521 a couple years ago and its still rock steady. It reminds me of polyurethane which I suppose would work well too. I spilled a little polyurethane in the bed of one of my trucks and Its there for life. Harder than a rock. I'm surprised people dont use it to seal rust like por15.
  20. welcome. 521's rule  now lets get those pics working. nice work. how about the interior and engine bay.
  21. I find that most 521's have a really loose blinker switch. Maybe this happens to other models too, i dont know. Here's how I fix it. Take off the column and locate the roll pin that holds the shaft part of the switch Tap the roll pin out use some wd-40 on it. Pull it out to reinsert through the top on reassembly. Carefull not to loose the ball bearing and spring it will be gunked on there with 40 year old grease. Clean it up. Also clean up the copper plate thats for the bright light switch. The ball bearing and spring are for the bright lights too. This gap with the red arrow is the problem. I'd say around 90 percent of the looseness. It needs to be filled in with something. I use loctite. on my 72 on my 71 Now if you dont have a vintage hires root beer bottle from the 50's this ain't gonna work. :geek: The only problem with the loctite is it takes around 2 weeks to harden. I suppose you can use epoxy or jb weld but you'll have to work it into the gap. The loctite is so runny it flows right in the gap that]s why I use it. On reassembly put a dab of new grease to hold the ball bearing in place. hold the blinker arm into place and tap the roll pin back in from the top.
  22. I dont like it but those rims are off the hook.
  23. nice work. those kick panels look great. did you buy the fiberboard at the hardware store? get us a close up pic of those window feelers when your done.
  24. sweet I see a red hazard switch knob. funny how they have the headlight symbol on them.
