So you just need the spacer off the end of the crank?? you should be able to take a sharp chisel and thump it VERY CAREFULLY !! in the crack between the crank and spacer ,, that should separate it enough to use screw driver to easily pry off.. Did i mention to do it carefully ,, they usually come off easier yours is just stuck,, they aren`t pressed on or anything but sometimes they are a real tight fit.

Has happened to me ,, i have also scrunched the head gasket putting cover back on to... Had to buy a new head gasket and cut just the end off....
