  1. Longer rod shortens stroke though, which would lower displacement correct?
  2. Don't know how much any of you follow drifting, but I met Christ Ward at one of my AZ accounts yesterday. He used to have an LS in his S13, but came across a good deal on a 2JZ. They were trying to work out some bugs on the dyno after replacing the turbo and a ton of parts. I just wanna put this out there, this car made about 70HP MORE on Autozone ignition coils over one of the leading competitors that will go un-named. When I left, they had started tuning it and started looking at around 500whp
  3. Yeah, sometimes I forget the long rods take away from displacement and call it an LZ23 :fu: I'll see if I can find specs on the pistons. I know they're 4G63 pistons with full floating wrist pins. Don't remember what brand, i'll have to ask. I don't know where my notepad is with all the specs on it. It's not a .460, I think I wrote it down wrong, or just fat fingered the keyboard when I typed that out. Cam specs: 275 degrees at .025"lift, 250 degrees at .050" lift and .475" lift at zero lash. 4. bumpppp. Another thing I've noticed is that no matter how hard I mash the pedal, I CANNOT lock up the tires, which I feel is very odd for something with 4 wheel drums... I've also found out that If I get the drums soaked with water from the rain, as soon as they dry out down the hill I have more stopping power, and can lock up the tires a ton. Normally I'd chock this up to shoe contamination, but there's no leaking fluid from the brand new wheel cylinders, and the shoes are brand new with little dust contamination. Even with brand new, freshly adjusted shoes and perfectly clean brake parts, it didn't brake as well as I feel it should have.
  5. Buy new rims, now I need new lug nuts. GHEY

if only you knew someone who worked at a parts store

  6. Replace. Go to Napa and get a good replacement. Shouldn't break about $40
  7. You won't find bolt in racing seats for a Datsun. At least not for a 210.
  8. Going to look at a set of rims Saturday morning.

  9. Biggest loss since DIO in my opinion. This guy was great.
  10. RIP!! If there is a hell, Jeff is in the deepest part rocking right along side Satan. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lAf9P5taLAk
  11. I'm gonna go look and measure :P The offset looks less aggressive, which is good. I want to go lower! It's gonna go white for a little while, until I have another car to drive so I can strip the dang thing down and replace all the metal that's got holes.
  12.  Izzo, my current rims are wider! Not by much. I've been trying to find a wider tire, but no one sells anything that's not a competition tire :( Either that, or it's too tall. 225/50 on the front is too tall for my fenders
  13. Thinking about going to get these... Add says they're Center Line's but I don't think so... http://atlanta.craigslist.org/atl/pts/3769569283.html
  14. The block on the stand hasn't been run, but it's also not been cleared, and probably won't be. My current motor (can't get any good pics) has been cleared with 3 coats, and hasn't chipped, faded, etc. It looks great. Although, maybe I just got lucky. If everyone else is having issues with it, I'd probably stay far from it.
  15. VHT is a brand owned by Duplicolor. I was told by a Duplicolor employee that the VHT is identical in almost every way, and will soon be phased out by the Duplicolor name products. Don't know how much truth there is to that, but that's what was explained to me. I used it on some rims a while back and it was great. I used the high heat clear coat, (the duplicolor stuff) and I haven't had a single issue with it. I'll see if I can get a quick picture of the block that I used it on. edit: here's the radiator I used it on with the same process. It's kinda grimy and dirty from our nasty georgia weather, but it's all in one piece
  16. FYI, use the clear coat, and use an extra few layers of paint. It turns out sooooooooooooo clean! My LZ painted with Old Ford Blue.... _DSC0041 by metalmonkey47, on Flickr
  17. I used Duplicolor engine enamel with primer and clear coat, and it was AWESOME. No pics, but I'll find some. Only complaint is that with spray paints, some chemicals will damage it.

So awesome! You're talking mad restoration costs here though! (Id assume..)

  18. Got some stuff from a few guys, forgot who all it was, but I'll try to remember. Got a steering wheel from Farmer. Fair price, awesome communication, and overall 200% satisfaction. Wouldn't hesitate to deal with him again.
  19. Alright, I am totally lost! I'm finding conflicting information everywhere. Mike, I replaced the shoes just an hour ago, since I got a bitchin warranty on these things. Now, as far as shoe orientation goes, I installed the the same way they were and the only way they made sense. Like you said, material closest to wheel cylinder. DRIVER: This is how it came off, and went on. Now on passenger, I forgot to take a picture, but i somehow managed to get the leading shoe on the rear on the other side. Weird, considering if that was the case it should pull LEFT right??? I corrected that and stuck the drum on, and the damn thing was so tight it wouldn't spin (same orientation as above) even with the adjuster spun all the way in. Now, I don't know if anyone recalls, but about a year ago I had an issue with the drivers side brake dragging. I went through everything and finally flipped the shoes around and it was fine. Fast forward to today, and I had the same issue, except putting the shoe in the OPPOSITE position as I installed the drivers made it work??? Now it pulls left, and I'm absolutely lost. I have got to be doing something wrong, or getting shitty parts. (Doubt that) I looked up some diagrams, and this link here shows the opposite of what I've already done here. Shows the shoe material is installed with the lining closest on the REAR side away from the piston on the wheel cylinder? I'm too tired to be working on this thing.
  20. Is it a stock fuel pump? (non electric) If so, no need for FPR. If your float level is set too high, your float bowl will flood. Is your choke opening all the way?
  21. I think it's a matter of finding the right pedal assembly. It's gonna be a beast though! I drove a maxima with an L28et in it, and it was a rocketship
