  1. Tried it It literally turns the lacquer paint I used into gum and doesn't come off. Duplicolor lacquer is tuff stuff.
  2. Just kind of curious, what are some good tools to have for stripping paint? And what's a good way to strip it quickly? I'm trying to get my bodywork done early, however I'm having a problem getting the car stripped quick enough. I've been using a few different tools so far with a little luck. So far I've used a nice Craftsman power drill with a 6 inch sanding attachment and 40 grit paper, and a variable speed angle grinder with a sanding attachment. The only problem is that neither of them strips the paint quick enough. Theres several layers in place and all of the paint and body guys I've spoken to said I should have no problem getting it all down to the metal in a few days. What kind of stuff do you guys use to rip off large areas of paint really fast? Input?
  3. Gonna order a Weber rejet kit in the morning. Fucking yeah it should run better.

  4. Because you drive a Datsun Shit like that just happens. Enjoy it. Seriously though, the needles probably broken.
  5. I'm gonna have to make sure I have a replacement gasket first, but I'm going to chock down the jet sizes for reference. I haven't found a jet chart for the A15 yet, but I'm still searching.
  6. How does it run with the stock carb and header? Any noticeable difference in power?

  8. I'm not sure what brand thermostat I have in there, but I do plan on taking it out and testing it in a pot of water to see what temp it opens at. Also going to replace the distributor with a reman unit in the next few weeks, but the GF's bday is coming up so I'm holding out on my car. KMC63, that is a good suggestion. I actually have a correct speedometer though. I took it to a guy at a local speedo shop a few months back and told him it was off by about 5MPH, gave him a few bucks and let him tinker. He put it on a little rig played around. By the time I got it back a few days later it was spot on I'm looking into rejetting the Weber to start. I figure the first step is making sure I know what jet's are in it so I'll have to pull out the jets. Any advice on rejetting it? I plan on using one of the kits made by the guy that did the tuning guide write up.
  9. The stock one was an H150 differential.
  10. That's me that has those now :P Bought them from minil320 on here. They're keihn CVK40's from a ZX11. Manifold setup is VERY simple! Would you like some pictures and more info on it?
  11. Badass man I really like the fab work you do! BTW, I have an A series header thats pretty badass that I only payed about $40 for
  12. Last years seemed pretty awesome!! Even though I didn't make it. I know a few people who told me it was neat. This year I'm planning on going. Source: http://classicmotors...events/Mitty11/
  13. You need one from a 60 series transmission. Not sure if the 63 will fit it.
  14. Thats against labor laws. Contact the labor department. Call the store and tell them you did and will be seeking compensation for the unpayed overtime. CHA-CHING more money for Datsuns.
  15. Welcome to Ratsun!! Nice story and great car
  16. Went to change the rear brakes today, pulled the drums and there was nothing to change. The pads were almost new and all the hardware was perfect without a spec of rust. Sprayed some brake parts cleaner inside and put it all back together.
  17. Hell yeah. Those little things have great potential! One of the coolest cars ever made though is the Lancia Delta Integral Evo! Theres a guy locally that has one he drag races that makes damn near 1000HP!
  18. Forgot to mention this!! I know it's partially related to my fuel economy in some small way. My engine never heats up past about160 degrees on a warm 70 degree day. It's got a brand new 192 degree thermostat in it. I know the gauge is correct because I checked the engine's physical temperature with a temp gun and only had about 120 degree thermostat housing. Suggestions?
  19. Go big or go home!! I say AWD turbo diesel swap. AWD burnout ftw
