  1. I see, yeah I've goofed around with solid axles, but never IRS. Wasn't sure if the procedure was different. I may start searching for an R200 with a lower gear for highway cruising.
  2. Just sheer curiosity, my 240Z has a little whine that sounds like it may be coming from the diff. I need to check/change the gear oil and seals, but I'm mostly just curious what it takes to get in there and rebuild one.
  3. Just FYI, if the turn signal switch is too far down the back of the column, the horn switch will not ground when pressed. Look into that.
  4. Broken timing chain? Valves wedged into pistons? Huh..
  5. Drove my 240Z for the first time tonight. So happy.

  6. Do you have any pictures of the rust? Seriously that's just so minimal. You should get some POR15 for the floor pans.
  7. I'll be there in spirit....soooooooo....have a beer for me.
  8. Dude again? Didn't you just get that thing back together in the last year or so? So sorry to hear man, glad your daughter is okay. Hope this truck comes back together...again.... I wish people payed more attention when driving. She could have really been hurt.
  9. Embrace the rust. Clear coat, patina, rims, low, done.
  10. Atlanta has: Cordele, where everyone Auto x-s and drifts. Dixie Speedway AMP (Atlanta Motorsports Park) Roebling Road in Savannah, and most of all Road Atlanta. We also have some of the coolest Datsun race cars around here and a pretty tight community. Brasleton is supposed to be a nice place to live, and you're literally right around the corner from Road Atlanta, so it's pretty cool to be around. etc etc http://www.racereview.com/georgia.htm -Yearly we have the Mitty which is probably the largest classic import get together in the US, just short of JCCS. Bigger then Canby for sure, but it's also open to more then just Datsun's. -ZdayZ takes place around here, so does East Coast Z Nationals at Z1 motorsports around Douglasville. -Nissan USA's headquarters is just north of us in TN, and has a huge Z car get together every year. ATL is pretty well setup for racing... and lots of Datsun love down here. Taxes are fairly low in the area too, and housing here is not too expensive, compared to some other local states. Weather here kinda sucks some times of the year, and can be a little inconsistent. But when it's nice here, it's freaking nice... Also, Matt Isbells no bullshit 240Z races at Road Atlanta, and is run out of MTI which will be doing the machining for my L28 in my 240Z.... No joking around with these guys. He drove this car so hard that he blew up some Arizona Z car parts last season and put it into a wall. All CF front end this season...
  11. I payed 800 for mine a few years ago. Wasn't in the best shape, but I'm happy with what i got for the money. It's a solid truck.
  12. I have some heavy duty 15w-50 with either WIX (napa Gold p/n 1515) OR K&N
  13. Thanks man! Here's your pictures for you.
  14. There's a few of those local to me. Fast as shit too!
  15. What I saw today at the airport. It pulled in past me and I got so excited hearing it and seeing it. Mclaren MP4 12C Twin turbo 616hp V8
  16. hey David, welcome. Get on FB and look for the page 'Georgia Datsun Owners and request an add and I'll get you on there. never know what parts people have around here. There's also Georgia Parts and Needs page as well. Can't wait to see some pics!
  17. I'm no Z expert as I'm just now getting into them myself, but I'm pretty sure the R180 was only 240-260Z? And then the R200 came in. (Although it's possible the R200 was S130, not S30) All R180 should be the same length, however bear in mind that an R160 diff is narrower then an R180, and has longer halfshafts, and the R200 is wider so it has shorter halfshafts. I am not aware of any different length R180 halfshafts, unless some of the models OTHER then the Z that used an R180 might have had a longer/shorter shaft Hope that helps. EDIT: I found some information here. http://www.ratdat.com/?p=292 http://www.geocities.com/inlinestroker/ratio.html
  18. Holy shit Daniel I think you just helped me figure out my clutch adjustment issue on my 620... Didn't even think that the clutch master I just replaced before the motor went in might be wrong bore... +1 Ratsun
  19. Nice!! Fun fact, Peter Brock designed the coupe version of the Cobra that won the FIA GT Championship for Carroll Shelby in 1965.
  20. This car is clean. Can't wait to see it in person with the EFI you're setting up
