  1. Alex: You guys should have called me over for the 'photo shoot', I would have cruised over with my 2 door and my wagon! :P Hey Abraham, I KNEW you'd recognize it. When he told me who he bought it from and that she said her ex (i.e. you) had a bunch of other ones...I put 2 and 2 together to figure it was your old one.
  2. What's up guys...yeah I've been going back and forth to Vandeburg Air Force Base near Santa Barbara and back East to Washington DC for work so it's been kind of hectic to set something up that I wouldn't be able to make :P I'll prob be posting something soon about a July meet. :) I'll start a new thread so it doesn't get confused for this past event.
  3. There's a guy in SoCal giving a set of 510 seats away for free...you might want to email him and see if you can convince him of shipping them to you (you'll have to pay shipping). Anyway for what it's worth here's his email (I don't know him just saw him posting in CL he was giving them away) onebadriver69@hotmail.com
  4. Damn sorry to hear u got hit..hope ur doing well. You might want to check out this project goon (all there) thats been posted on CL local to us/you. :P It's complete just not put together so you could probably sell off the engine/tranny it comes with to cut down the costs even more! :) http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/cto/1224702620.html
  5. Yeah like Mike/Pac said...get yourself to Wal-Mart and pick up the upholstery curved needles (about $2 for a set) and some upholstery thread (about $2 a spool) and get to it. :)
  6. Another odd thing is that another friend of mine just got a 1968 rhd 4 door 510, stock as can be with an L13 and it has the same exact dash as mine (well granted that the steering wheel and glove box are on opposite ends) but still same as my dash...seems kind of strange that there would be so many swapped out dashes or that maybe it varied by month of production that they switched to a different dash?
  7. Mark and I have shared polishing tips so here's my process with steps & pics. I think I could get them brighter if I used my polishing kit (rouge and buffing wheels) but not bad I think for all hand. Before: Simple Green to clean: Sanded with Scotchpad: Wet sanded with 400 grit. Wet Sanded with 600 grit: Wet Sanded with 1500 grit: Polished with Mother's Mag Wheel Polish (by hand) 1500 grit on left, polished on right
  8. You just got this...why are you selling it already?
  9. This sucks if they begin to do it everywhere. I thought about this exact same thing when I recently met up with a guy buying some Datsun parts from me. I met him nearby where I work and I drove my 2 door 510 with KA24DE swap and as it just happened to turn out the guy was a CHP officer...all dressed in his uniform and in his CHP car. He checked out my car and asked to see under the hood...said he has a L20 in his and is considering a KA swap too. So even some of thier own law enforcement guys will be hosed by this thing if it gets out of hand. Just more reason to not stick out like a sore thumb with my loud exhaust. :P
  10. That's great news amigo...now go do some celebratory donuts!
  11. Yeah I was about to say why not try someone else's running car's coil to remove all doubt about the coil situation. Hope it gets fixed soon.
  12. You should hurry and call this guy selling 2 on craigslist (one as a spare for you)...btw, he's been selling them for $50 for weeks now so you might have some wiggle room. Datsun 280zx Rims - $50 (hercules, pinole, san pablo, el sob) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Reply to: see below Date: 2009-05-01, 1:18PM PDT I have 2 rims for datsun 280zx and they are in good condition for restoration.Pls . call norman at 510-323-3980 for any question.
  13. Maybe because you're swapping wheels too often... :P, j/k sorry to hear you're having to deal with that still. Slap in that dizzy and call it a day.
  14. Awesome Yellow...now post a pic of you sporting them on :P
  15. Thanks for the PM Hyphy but it's at least an hour and a half away...kind of far for me to make it. Hope you get a decent turn out.
  16. What exatcly are you looking for weather seals...weather stripping? If so for what a 2 door, 4 door, wagon?
  17. Bumper for sure, now as far as airdams or not it's up to you but depending on air dam style it may or may not look good. I'm not a fan of the chin spoiler, looks like an underbite since it sticks forward...but clearly it's a personal choice so go with what you like. My 510 came with a air dam that if it wasn't on it already I honestly would not go out and get one and just run it without anything but a front bumper.
  18. Sorry Beau I don't, Spreadshirt it the one that has the you just have to look out for them or do a google search to find any obscure ones. :)
  19. congrats on the goon but still no pics...are you hosting them on a accessible location or do you have to log in to see them?
  20. I told you it wouldn't have been a meet without you guys...and of course we liked Lisa's dime...it's sweet looking and running (especially when you guys left :D). I can't belive I didnt take a pic of your old 510 Clay...but since it was next to mine I think I just passed it over since I've already posted my car plenty in my thread. But I did get it in my video clip. Good to see it's in good hands. The new owner seems to be a pretty enthusiastic guy and his kid brother (who wants one too) and dad were there with him. Can't wait to see the pics you took Ben. They should look great since you had a kick butt camera.
  21. That was a major reason that I figured on just naming a time/place/location. He was taking the lead on planning a big meet/bbq but there were starting to be too many cooks in the kitchen and nothing appeared to get cemented. I figured a casual meet was a lot easier and quicker to put together and I was quite pleased with the end results of tonight. :)
