ok i got the truck running decent yesterday, drove it about 2 miles, got 5 bucks worth of 89, and when i tried to leave the filling station it quit and i had to get towed home, my charging system took a crap and i think that it runs fine while the battery is juiced up but after it drains a little it seems like it doesnt have enough juice to powwer the coil correctly. it was idling awesome and had good throttle response and everything, then all of a sudden it just quit, i cleaned and gapped my plugs too by the way.

ok i will, i wasnt trying to start up a million dollar buisness or even make ANY MONEY AT ALL i just wanted for people like myslef to be able to represent ratsun in anyshape size or color they want, i know my ratsun sticker is nowhere near big enough to show how proud i am to display it, i know the guys cutting the vinyl stickers arent making BIG BIG ONES, sorry about the misunderstanding

ok talked to my decal guy today he says he can cut anything we want in any quantity we want, total cost to you guys would be about 5 or 6 bucks for the 5 inch size and for larger ones like 8 or 9 inches tall would be about 7 or 8 dollars, both prices of course represent shipped to your door i can get just about any color and even chrome for you chrome guys!!!! so everybody post what you want and i will try and get with him and get an order placed.:)

hey i was thinking of taking one of the rat and wrenches decal to my local sticker guy and seeing if i can get some big ones cut about 9 inches tall, do you guys have any ideas for size/color of these stickers that you would like to have? if so i will ask him and see what all kinds i can get

Hey guys i finally got the truck running, i got it to idle and run pretty good in the driveway but it was smoking, i think cylinder #1 isnt firing, the plug was wet, i tried to drive it but it quit and wouldnt start again i had to get towed home :(, i dont know what to do now, i guess vhange my plugs and set my timing, if that doesnt work then hell with it

im ridding my engine of egr components in order to combat my numerous vacumm leaks and to tune up my truck a bit so i can #1 get better gas mileage #2 drive my truck daily and #3 drive my truck without the risk of breaking down due to carb trouble. so far i have removed everything egr and readied my new intake for my carb, right now im working on a mounting bracket for my throttle cable because im using a u65 manifold that has had the bolt holes ground off, here is a few pics, take note the block off plate for the bcdd solenoid and the old school float window i installed :cool:

your right yellow, i only used the rtv as a temporary sealant to diagnose my leak issues, i am replacing tha gaskets, and any gaskets that are iffy are getting indian head gasket schellac, thank you for watching out for me though:) i honestly do appreciate the knowledge and advice given on this forum, im addicted to it, my girlfriend gets on to me about being on here 24/7, atleast one woman in this world is reasonable though lol, thanks again man, oh yeah my truck used to be yellow like yours :):), i wish it still was

ok ordered my new intake gasket and decided to swap out my manifolds for egr free ones, instead of my old heat riser u67 stuff i am swapping over to older riser free u60 manifolds, and i am also deleting my bcdd valve off of my carb, heres some pics, and i want to thank everybody for helping me out on this project, i couldnt do it without my ratsun family lol :):)

ok so i went outside and stuffed a sock down in the secondary, now the BASTARD JUST ABOUT IDLES BUT IT SMOKES LIKE A FREIGHT TRAIN, is my mixture too rich? when i got it to idle FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!! i noticed gasoline around the intake/exhaust manifold gasket, started it back up and saw bubbles aroud the gasket, so that means i need a new one, but could that have been the root of all of my problems? but if i stuck the sock down in the secondary could that mean i was getting excess air through there? or normally does a small amount of air travel through the secondary constantly? and by me blocking off the secondary acted like me plugging the leak in my gasket causing it to run better? when i change the gasket i will remove all of the egr shit, i know that rail above the intake can go but what else goes? the air pump is already gone, so is the diaphram and the canister.

well guys im officially done working on this carb unless someone, has some really good advice, here is what i have determined about my carb, its clean, all of the passages are clear, all of the jets and parts are in the correct spot, both throttle blades are completely closed when engine is off, choke works, on startup both throttle blades are still closed, all gaskets are sealing, bcdd is now removed/blocked off to eliminate its part in the equation, linkage is in correct configurement, and i still cant figure out why my throttle cable came out of adjustment, when i took my carb off the very first time to rebuild it my cable had no slop on the linkage, now that i put it back on and its sitting on the fast idle cam it has about 2 inches of slop? what the hell? anyways im going to make a short video and post it up to show you what is going on, see if you can spot anything that i missed.:mad::mad::mad::mad::confused:

thanks man, i think i saw one of these at the parts house, what kind of adapter plate do you have to use, are the plates just universal?

seriuosly though i need a good weber in working condition, i dont mind rebuilding it but it needs to be a complete carb, i also need the adapter plate if you have it, let me know how much and i will see where i stand on datsun funds
