  3. you do not have to dick with screws of any sort, screws will cause you a headache and look like shit, i have built ported boxes for 13's that ran 143 db at the headrest with liquid nails and 1.5 inch brad nails, then you can paint the box since there is no screws to hide. My advice do not build a ported box for 2 8 inch subs, look up the manufacturers specs, 99 percent of subs 10 inches and under are recommended for sealed enclosures only. also do not forget to run a bead of the liquid nails on every inside joint to seal out all the air. here are a few that i have built. and yes oneof those is my SINGLE CAB silverado (talk about building cardboard templates!)
  4. damn radio got jacked last night by some piece of shit, its a good thing my .45 didnt catch em, in other news im going man-hunting tonight

  5. rest assured you have the right stuff, use it and report back on how you like it, i bought it and i liked it seemed to help smooth and soften shifting through all gears.
  6. nope no details, my grandpa (who is a total badarse and smokes captian black in a pipe) made it back in the late 70's early 80's i rogued it off of an engine he had. but really all it does is plate off where all the bs used to be, it covers it up, bolts up, and has an egr valve fitted to a piece of steel water pipe that is welded into the side. al you need to do is a get a template and cut one out of plate steel with a saw or a torch or whatever then route your pcv into it with whatever fitting you choose. its as simple as that

    CAMSHAFT WOES

hey fellas i am getting to the point in my project when i need to order a camshaft, i am probbaly going to order one from webcamshafts, i want to get a mild cam and not too hot for a streetable truck. my question is do any of you have some resources for directions on installing a camshaft into an l20b? maybe a how to guide? i just want to make sure i get everything in order and lined up and torqued properly. I do have a mechanical background and i have rebuilt some 125cc kawasaki race engines but i have never been far into an l20b, the bottom end doesnt scare me its just getting everything in the top end set up correctly. i have plenty of tools and can buy any special tools i need. also some of you have put hotter cams into your engines before how hot was your cam and how did you like it?? i am open to all suggestions on cam profiles, i want something that can utilize the mikuni 44mm carbs i am running. also i will be running an open chamber head for the time being.

    ? A87 vs U67 ?

how did you figure that one???? its called pre detonation and it happens with higher compression heads, not lower like the u67 open chamber
  22. wow man you have an m35a2???? dude we need pics!!!! also for all of you who cant find it look at napa, here is what you are looking for, its about 30 bucks a gallon, http://www.crcindustries.com/ei/content/prod_detail.aspx?PN=SL24239&S=C , i know it sounds pricey but why spend 3 bucks a quart on gl-5 to ruin your tranny or spend 7.50 a quart on something thats better for it, hell you only change it ever 30k or so, also i bought some redline mt90 for my 5 speed swap and i will use it and let you guys know how i like it, here is a link for the redline, you can get the redline through oreillys and you should be able to get the crc as well, http://www.racerpartswholesale.com/product/1810/Gear_Oil_And_Transmission_Oil
  23. i read something today (i beleive on the back of the redline syth gear oil i bought) about the gear oil breaking down just like regular engine oil and not letting the synchros engage as smoothly, maybe just bs but honestly i can tell a difference (now i just gotta get my 5 speed in!!!
