  2. hey guys i recently drained my 4 speed and refilled it with the crc brand gl-4 yellow safe 80w-90 gear oil, im pretty sure the old oil was gl-5 put in by the po, that shit was blacker than black, before i changed it third gear would grind a bit when i wound out second and shifted, now its smooth as a babys ass, i didnt realize how big of a difference it makes!!!! i am going to be putting in my new engine and my 5 speed soon and i just wanted to kind of flush out the 4 speed before i stored it, if any of you have gl-5 or even if you have a gl-4 thats not yellow metal safe GET IT OUT!!!!!!!!!!! that shit will ruin your trans, dont go to a parts house and talk to anyone about it, they are all idiots, find it yourself so you know you have the right shit.
  3. here is what your truck will look like when you get it done
  4. mikuni!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. since you havent sold them let me know what the real price is and get back at me
  6. did the 77 come with a longer tranny?????
  7. i was in a bind with my exhaust and he had the two hole flamge i needed, well it was a homemade rusted out pitted pile of crap and he charged my 30 bucks for the damn thing, when i tried to e mail him about it in a respectful manner he never would get back with me, thats when it turned sour
  8. i went with the redline gear oil, it is specifically designed for transmissions and is cheap compared to the royal purple scum, http://www.summitracing.com/parts/RED-50304
  9. awesome link man, i found some at anapa and at car quest, of course oreillys where i work sucks we dotn carry any of it and everybody there is ignorant and tried telling me i could run gl-5 they always give me hell and make fun of my datto, but i understand, if i was in my 30,s or 40,s and worked at an auto parts store and didnt have a datsun i would be pretty tore up too lmao!!!
  10. here is my setup that i am putting together (yes i have it all (minus cam but thats coming) but i have to put it together) L20b (factory new, not rebuilt) dual 44mm mikunis on a mikuni manifold, webcams camshaft 450 260 238 profile, electric fuel pump, egr delete, etc. nothing special but enough to make me wanna wind it up and possibly lay a line or two, besides i checked on the standard cf2 centerforce clutch it is like 220 bucks and the dual fricition is like 260 so why the hell not????
  11. hey no kidding i could really really use this distributor, so if ya wanna make some cash let me know asap!!! the ole points dizzy needs to go
  12. abe is a sleezebag, dont expect to hear from him again, dont buy shit off him, high prices and shitty stuff, and he overcharges for shipping
  13. hey have any of you seen this!! http://duplicolorrestorationchallenge.com/projects/detail/151 dude we have totally got to all vote for this guy, i dont know if he is on ratsun or not but we need to vote this little truck up and above the mustangs camaros and all the other shit we see everyday on the highway, lets show duplicolor and the rest of the country the power of DATSUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. the part about changing from pilot bushing to bearing was kinda cool, still think i would rather have the bushing though hye i could use some info on a source for a good clutch fork, cheap stock flywheel (new not used) and a tranny vent
  15. ok i talked to centerforce and the 225mm part number for the dual friction kit is df583402, they do not offer a flywheel and i am on the hunt for a non expensive replacement, i really dont feel like getting my flywheel surfaced and im sure its been milled before. i dont like turning them more than once and yesi know i could shim it but i would rather just get a new one that hasnt seen any heat or abuse. i guess i am going to go with the dual fricition but i still need a clutch fork, tranny seals and gasket, shifter bushings, reverse switch, rubber clutch fork boot, shifter boots, flywheel and some time!!! hey where do you guys get your flywheels and clutch forks??? i can get the seals and switch through work and hopefully the rubber parts and bushings through nissan, anybody have part numbers on the bushings and boots???
  16. isnt red constant hot and yellow is switched????????     ?????
  17. so i was looking at getting a dual friction centerforce clutch for my new 5 speed and i was wondering what your guys view is, i can get a sachs brand new for about 75 bucks and i have one in my full size truck and i havent had any problems but i wanted to maybe upgrade because i love driving the datto hard, i wanna be able to dump the clutch every once in a awhile without cringing thinking about the heat and friction beneath the floorboard, here is the part number for the centerforce DF511276 can somone verify this is correct, it stated it was for various later models of 510 and 610 l20 so i am assuming it will work in my l20b 620. what are some other brands of clutches you guys have used and liked or held up well under abuse
  18. damn man its a shame your not growing hell i wish i lived out in the west where the shit was more acceptable ahem cough cough california
  19. pick one up at the yard, fill in your location so we can see whos closest with a tranny!!
  20. i work at a parts house and yes people are stupid, little punks that dont know shit about automobiles get hired and they are unqualified, i personally have looked in the sachs clutch catalog and found that the only difference in say the clutch for this datsun or that datsun (with an L18 or an L20 not the L16) is 5 or 6 bolt flywheel, tell them to get the catalog out and let you look at it, sachs took over dynapak so the dynapak numbers are no more! you have to use the sachs numbers for the dynapak clutches. if you havent fond one by friday i will get to work and find you a part number, how many bolt holes are on the end of your crankshaft????
  21. yeah thats great but how am i supposed to do it without the dizzy
