I was under the impression that this would work. So the L20b and pressure plate is only a direct bolt in for '71 and later 510's?- I guess I missed that... Edit: Hmmm well... what to do now. Can I swap to a '71 and later auto while still maintaing the same column shifter assembly? Im not sure how each transmission and shifter assembly are connected.

Looking to swap to an L20b, but keeping the car auto because Im an OG. Ive got my hands on the engine, but need the pressure plate to mate it with my current B&W auto transmission. Would like all necessary pieces for bolt-on installation. Willing to drive a reasonable distance around Silverdale, Washington to pick it up... or will need it shipped. Either way is fine honestly. Have cash in hand so that I can finally get a bit more power in the 510. Thanks.

Tonight is going to be a late night for me, but Im finishing up a few things on the 4dr. before Golden Gardens tomorrow. Ive already stripped the paint off the hubcaps, and they are currently in the dishwasher being cleaned and the stripper neutralized. After that I think I have just enough paint to give them two coats. I moved the car into the garage since the girlfriend is at school right now and I will be cleaning it out. There were a bunch of leaves and pine needles in the air vents so now they are all over the floor. She should be good to go tomorrow for her first real meet.

Glad to hear youre doing good. Hope to wife feels better. And hopefully you and the wife arent worried about your first solo trip... theres a bunch of us going to GG from this side, so you should be well taken care of in the caravan. My mother had some issues that prevented her from driving when I was little and I remember how happy she was when she was able to drive again. Its a wonderful day. Hopefully the weather stay nice, not only because of the meet, but to make your first cruise to freedom that much better.

Is it the lowering height thats the issue up there, or they dont like using blocks? Im just wondering that once you pass and make it road worthy, can you then go back and keep it slammed of even go farther (if thats your thing). Sorry to hear you failed, but like you said: at least you now know what you have to fix to get it there.

Obviously you wouldnt want to drink it once you run it through the radiator. I just figure you fill that bish up with Coke and let it sit over night... it will eat through any of that rust.

That was going to be my next things after reading all the replies. It seems like youve gone through all the items to fix the temp, but it still reads hot. It might just be the gauge.

I could think of a few things: 1. You may have some sort of blockage in one of the hoses. You could try flushing out the coolant system with fresh water. 2. You said you made sure the thermostate was good... did you try actually using a new one? Maybe you have a unit with too high of a temp rating.

Along with the aforementioned ways of flushing with a hose, Ive used a couple different additives. Ive used radiator flushing fluid (I never looked at the ingredients to see what was in it), CLR, and citric acid. You can pick whichever you want... I didnt document which worked better, but I know that Ive used citric acid to clean pipes, and machinery systems while I was in the Navy. It worked fantastic, is non-caustic to the touch and is delicious. Here is my steps for a hardcore radiator flush: 1. With the car cold forward flush the car with your perfered method 2. Reverse flush your car with your perfered method. 3. Blow the hoses out with an airhose. 4. Add water and your additive (CLR, radiator cleaner, citric acid, etc.) 5. Turn on your heater full blast and run your car for about 10-15 minutes. 6. Let the car cool down completely. 7. Repeat steps 1 and 2 again. 8. Fill with appropriate ratio of coolant and water for season/location. Ive thought about using Coca-Cola as a radiator flush liquid, but am unsure what process I would use. I was thinking of running it for 10-15 minutes to get it circulating and then letting it sit overnight possibly. Ive seen what that stuff can do to rust and am impressed. Im just a little worried what would happen to it when you put it under pressure and heat it up to near boiling since its full of CO2.

My biggest thing with sites like that, is that there has to be a reason the girls are on there. Its usually harder for guys to find chicks to date so I can understand why guys would use sites like those, but when it comes to chicks... its just seems to me that something has to be wrong with them. I mean, if youre not crazy, slightly attractive, and not 1000lbs you should be able to get a date as a woman. Im sure there are decent chicks on those sites, but its like CL ads. They are either fat or bots. There should be no reason a perfectly good woman cant find someone to be with. Maybe you should just be more active in hobbies. If you find a chick while youre out doing things you enjoy, you might find someone with a common intrest you can do together.
