benzo
Hi Everyone! Wanted to ask fellow wagon owners what options they used or found that were good for gas tank cap options? I tried this stant # 10811/G26 and it fit on my 71 wagons fill nozzle but it sticks up high and doesn't cover the indentation well. I remember once someone said a VW rabbit locking model works but can't find that info anymore. Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Quote Link to comment
MikeRL411
Try older BMW 2000 series gas caps. I used 510 wagon gas cap on my old BMW 2002 and it worked. Quote Link to comment
benzo
@MikeRL411 Thanks Mike. Just after posting I seen a mention of early BMW's. Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
Try the '68-'71 Dart, Valiant, '70 Duster/Demon, later Scamp. Pretty much all Chrysler A body cars even earlier and later than listed. Quote Link to comment
rosso
I bought this cap - this is the ebay title for the listing - but I did not see another one just now when I searched. 57 58 59 DeSoto WAGON Locking Gas Cap W/Flip Lid Dust Cover Mint with Two Keys Quote Link to comment

Duncan
If I recall correctly, the early wagon gas cap is different than the later cap. I believe when they went to the fancier evap tank controls, (inside the quarter panel) they had to change the metal filler neck and cap along with it. I believe most of the non-US models had the early style filler neck and cap, regardless of year. I learned all that the hard way with my non-US model wagon. Disclaimer: My advice is only worth what you paid for it. Edited September 4, 2023 by Duncan Quote Link to comment
benzo
@Draker thanks for the link. I picked up one and waiting for it to arrive. @Duncan You are correct. Believe the 68-69 are different from the 70-73 models. 1 Quote Link to comment
