Tom1200
So here is my latest boring ass video from a track day I did a couple of weeks ago. This was a Porsche Club track day, I was instructing as well as driving, it was on Spring Mountain Motorsports new Charleston Peak track. It is a pretty stark example of what happens when you run a 80whp car with 400-600hp cars. Also notice the sawing at the wheel.........the poor Hoosiers are toast. 3 Quote Link to comment
jeffball610
This is also an example of a "momentum" car. That red car blasted out after the intial overtake, but it wasn't pulling away in th twisty section. 1 Quote Link to comment
Tom1200
For sure; if I had the A15 in the car (99.6whp) I'd be passing many of these cars. 1 Quote Link to comment
ratpatrol66
You were definitely chopping at the wheel but cutting good lines. Looks like fun. I'm hoping to do some lapping days next year at a few local tracks. 1 Quote Link to comment
Tom1200
My buddy calls my driving style slippery smooth; the car is glorious fun. Becuase of the extremely low power it's actually faster to leave the throttle pinned and saw at the wheel like a fiend. It's the polar opposite if the single seat formula car I also race. 1 Quote Link to comment
KELMO
These videos from Tom are always a treat to watch. Being a 1200 guy myself, I could be biased. Several years ago, I went with a couple Roadster guys to a Porsche club autocross with the grey coupe. My times were about middle of the pack. I don't think any of us were near the level of driver that Tom is, but we sure had fun. The coupe is a stock A12 with a 4 speed and a set of 14" Chokeyamama S Drive tires. There was a conversation that I remember going a little like this; Buddy: Kelmo, do you think you are doing so well because of the larger tires you are running? Me: No, I think it is because I don't give a shit what happens to the car. 1 Quote Link to comment
carterb
Looks like a fun track. Blind crests are pretty exciting when your foot is in it! --carter 1 Quote Link to comment

Skib
Fastest auto-x car I ever rode in was an A powered 1200 on slicks. Just rough enough to have no worries, and piloted by an old timer who out wheeled every fast car there. KA and SR cars getting taken down to gapple-bees lol 1 Quote Link to comment
paradime
Tom you got that 1200 dialed in like a Swiss watch. Impressive what 88 ponies can do in the right hands.. 2 1 Quote Link to comment
