Crashtd420
I actually got these.. You'll just need to buy the appropriate bolt... 1 Quote Link to comment

Crashtd420
There not bad to install the worse part is if the bolt is rusted in..... the center of the bushing is a steel sleeve that rusts to the bolt.... 1 Quote Link to comment
wayno
Them are a bitch to get out of there sometimes, the bolt rusts inside the sleeve of the bushing, I have had to cut the bolt to get one out before. Are yours loose/sloppy?, it doesn't look like bad other than the rubber cracking a little, not sure it is worth messing with unless loose/sloppy. 1 Quote Link to comment
mklotz70
They're not that rare. Rockauto.com has them too. I have a urethane version available on my site........but I'm not sure I have any more in stock. This is what I use for the bolt.....I'm pretty sure it will work for the stock ones too. You should be able to find them at a "good" hardware store. Hex bolts, Zinc plated grade 8 steel yellow, 1/2"-20 x 3-1/2" 2 Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
I get them local from o rileys Jack up the drum to keep tension off the bolt. and get PB Blaster and a drift to puch it out while turning the bolt out. EZ to replace. Ive done them 2 times already 2 Quote Link to comment
d.p
Ok, reason I want to replace is because I still get slight vibration at speed (60-65). Changed wheels and tires which helped a fair amount but its still there. Looking around the suspension parts for wear and these were the worst of what I could see with my naked eye. 1 Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
highly think that those bushing are NOT the proplem. ck the tie rods really closely. which was my proplem 1 Quote Link to comment
d.p
What should I be looking for? Front driver side wheel seems to have some side to side play in it. Would that indicate bad tie rod? Video here: https://www.flickr.com/gp/149231725@N05/1462R5 1 Quote Link to comment
wayno
That would indicate possible tie rod issues. Also check the idler arm for play. 1 Quote Link to comment
Tucson620
Steering idler arm? (ETA - Wayno too fast!) Mine was completely worn. Tie rods too. Helpful if you can have someone else shake, you look at what's moving underneath. Or shake tire from under car yourself. 1 Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
my idler arm was worn but did not cause my shake. it was the tie rod ends. I got mine from rockauto and I think Partsgeek had some also. 1 Quote Link to comment
d.p
Bumping this, should I replace the entire tie rod or just the ends? And why some repops only seem to sell the right side? Quote Link to comment

d.p
Yeah IDK cause rock auto lists the tie rod and the tie rod ends. Are these things hard to find nowadays? RA has 6 of them, 5 of them being the right side and the only selling a left side is ACDELCO. Hell even MOOGs site only lists the right side. Quote Link to comment
Crashtd420
Oh ya.... which ones are you replacing... I forgot the center bar has the replaceable ends.... The ones that connect to the wheels where the ones I was thinking.... Quote Link to comment

Crashtd420
Have you checked orieley or AutoZone... they have all 4 listed... Both show these listed ... no idea if they are available.... rockauto also list some much cheaper ones... I like the rare parts brands because they have grease fittings and a lifetime warrantee.... Crashtd420
Ok well I was able to find those parts on Amazon and every one of those rare parts brands are temporarily out of stock.... Gotta luv it. Quote Link to comment
mainer311
Jeez, those autozone prices for those parts are ridiculous. Almost as bad as the $300 lower ball joints for a Roadster. Quote Link to comment
mklotz70
You might take a look at the later tie rods...85ish? 4wd? The tapers on the tie rods are the same.....I'm about 99% sure on that. Their adjustable, I'm just not sure they're quite long enough. 1 Quote Link to comment

Or am I misunderstanding what you are saying? 1 Quote Link to comment
