Anonymous Waffle
I know there were never any kingcab longbeds from factory, but has anyone ever done it? I can't find any info or photos on them. I would imagine you would need to lengthen the frame due to different wheel dimensions of the short bed and long bed? 1 Quote Link to comment
hobospyder
I was going to because I haven't seen any of the such. Haven't gotten around to it yet and will be a while. Would love to see one though. 1 Quote Link to comment

Anonymous Waffle
This is Denmark boys concept And Those are real sweet, especially that concept art, but damn that's long! I was thinking the 2 door Kingcab, not the 4 door. Does anyone have the dimensions of the short bed, longbeds and kingcab? Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
Long bed and king cab share wheel base. Look up short bed wheelbase and king cab wheelbase and find the difference between them. Add that difference to the king cab wheelbase and you have your new wheelbase. 1 Quote Link to comment
INDY510
This is off wikipedia, so it "might" be right: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Datsun_Truck Wheelbase: 2,545 mm (100.2 in) 2,785 mm (109.6 in) (G/GN620) Quote Link to comment
hobospyder
i think mike has said the wheel base is the same between the two but i could be wrong Quote Link to comment
Anonymous Waffle
i think mike has said the wheel base is the same between the two but i could be wrong Yeah its the same im sure, you can swap the beds of a kingcab and a short bed. Quote Link to comment
Anonymous Waffle
So the new wheelbase should be 119.0 in? Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
Looks about right. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
KC and long bed have the same frame. (ok the front bed mounts are different) A KC with a long bed would have the wheel arches about " too far to the rear. You could put a KC or short wheelbase box on but then you would have a... KC again. If you have a long bed the KC cab won't fit on by 9". You would have to stretch the frame behind the cab by about 9" on a long bed to move the box and wheels back to allow a KC cab to fit on. Quote Link to comment
hobospyder
So my idea of cutting and splicing two frames is probably the easiest for that That's how I was going to do it. Would need to do some buttressing and maybe an extra couple crossmembers for the spliced area me thinks Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
What's the end goal here? An extra long truck? It's only about 10 inches. Quote Link to comment
hobospyder
I don't know about op, I just wanted something I haven't seen. Quote Link to comment

Anonymous Waffle
What's the goal of a convertible 510, or a chopped 620? Because you have the ability to do something that others haven't done or few do. Cause it's fun :) 1 Quote Link to comment
distributorguy
A Mega mini truck. You could widen it too, if you really want to get creative. If you have 2 trucks to play with, it wouldn't be that much more difficult than the stretch, provided you can fit a windshield from another vehicle. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Been done. Called an F-150. Quote Link to comment
Anonymous Waffle
Been done. Called an F-150. So you're saying instead of trying to get better fuel mileage out of a 510, you should give up and buy a Prius? *gasp*! Quote Link to comment

Lockleaf
I forgot about those custom cab setups. They are likely 10 inches longer than the stretched king cab would be. Quote Link to comment
distributorguy
...with a stretched frame and a short bed if I recall? Quote Link to comment
