datzenmike
Bought a 69 521 trying to find some info on the sr20 swap First one is free.... http://community.ratsun.net/topic/43133-project-smurfet-1971-521-datsun-sr20det/ there were at least 4 more for the 521 and even more for the later 620 truck. If you are really serious, locate the SEARCH function upper right of every page, just below the 510 and type "521 SR20 swap" or SR20 swap into 521 or SR20 swap into 620 as they are similar trucks. Then try KA24E and KA24DE swaps as they have similar transmissions and EFI info. Look for the Can AM box sold here for making the wiring hook ups easier. Mod helps those who help themselves 2 Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
There were no RWD SR20s used in N AM so you have to import one and the 5 or 6 speed plus the complete electronics and ECU for the EFI conversion. The rear end will handle it, so from the back to the front.... High pressure electric in line fuel pump Fuel return line. Length modified one piece drive shaft. Transmission mount relocated/modified. D21 speedometer sleeve to replace electronic speed sensor. One off engine brackets and probably the rubber mounts also. Oil pan modifications to clear the front 521 steering and crossmember. Custom exhaust system with larger 2" pipe. Custom rad and hoses If you want to survive this swap you will need Disc brake conversion (probably D21 VG calipers and vented rotors) Drums on back are fine if you keep them adjusted. Better tires. $5K sounds almost right if you do your own work. Double if you pay someone. 1 Quote Link to comment
spriso
While this is putting a SR into a 620, a lof of the info will be similar to your 521 project: http://www.superstreetonline.com/how-to/additional-tech/ssts-1119-ins-and-outs-of-custom-engine-swap Good luck! Charlie69
I believe that Sycloned916 Did this swap twice because the first truck was totaled. I cannot find the first truck thread and the start of the second truck thread. if any one has the links for these threads please post them here. http://community.ratsun.net/topic/24521-the-520/ 1 Quote Link to comment
