EastBay521
Im really satisfied with the power of my dads banshee 350.takes 700 4strokes all day.so I figure similar displacement with some grip should be fun. I really want a rz350 since its pretty much the same drive train, but theyre hard to touch on a datsun owners budget. 1 Quote Link to comment
RatVonDude
I used to see more of those on c.list. Didn't realize they had such a fallowing. Could get a beater one and restore. Quote Link to comment
EastBay521
That may happen. Rd is just easier to be obtained Quote Link to comment
paradime
the RD's are not THAT fast probably underpowered like the honda 2 strokes I'd guess they bottom out at 85mph Wow, are you seriousRVD? I had an RD 350LC that could do 130 through the Broadway tunnel in SF. On Highway 35 Skyline I was hanging with 4 stroke sport bikes twice my displacement. When GP racing was all 2 stroke they had to limit the displacement to 500cc, because the 750s were getting too out of hand. 1 Quote Link to comment
q-tip
The 750's are still out of hand, I would put money that with modern chassis suspension and tires a 750 2 stroke could gang with the superbikes Quote Link to comment
paradime
That would be an interesting race. They are getting 170hp out of the RZ500 these days. Theoretically a 750 equivalent should make 255hp. My money would be on the 2 stroke. Quote Link to comment
RatVonDude
It's all a mater of how much you weight with the RD. OK fine get a muthafuhkinyamahARD and scare the shit outta the stray cats and almost ride a wheelie into a parked speedboat 1 Quote Link to comment

paradime
I played that same tug of war with my then girlfriend, now wife. When we met, I had that RD I was talking about. Argue as she might today, I know the danger thing was sexy and exciting for her. Once we started living together though the bike was loud stinky fast, and very impractical as a daily D. She didn't much care for it, so for an engagement gift she bought me a Magna V45 and I sold the RD. Little did I know at the time, this "gift" was the beginning of a slow castration by a thousand cuts. 4 short years later I was riding a bagger Goldwing. Oh sure, I fought back with a chopped up XL 500 motar, but as soon as we started having kids, so went the last bike. Moral of the story, make no compromise when it comes to protecting your balls. Should have posted this first. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bxs--mEMqPQ Quote Link to comment
