I have been gone from here for a while. My old laptop was the main reason why.... Seriously people, NEVER buy an ACER or Gateway computer, same company. After one year of ownership I have probably gotten a total of 60 days of use out of this POS! THIS IS THE SIXTH GODDAMN HARDRIVE FAILURE! THAT'S RIGHT...SIX! This is bullshit. Fuck their damn warranty WHICH HAS NOW EXPIRED ANYWAY and the crappy refurbished parts they throw in.There is actually a class action lawsuit against ACER for using refurbished parts in their NEW computers and selling them as new. I am going to buy a hard drive myself, install it and Windows, then sell this POS on Craigslis for cheap just to get rid of it. Probably sell for cost of parts plus maybe $20? I guess that is what I get for buying a cheap computer on Black Friday last year! However, I just recently bought a bad ass Dell XPS gaming laptop as it's replacement and I am very pleased with it. Then again, this comp cost over $1000! I guess the old saying is true, you get what you pay for. . Stop down loading all that nun lactation and insertion porn. WTF do you expect? Link to comment

Too much heat/CPU/graphics card heat. That and stop buying windows. Terrible OS. MacBook Pro, bought it in 2005. Still use it daily. Link to comment

I built my PC with 24 gb ram, i5 processor, GTX 760 graphics card and a 750gb hard drive for about 600 dollars. Granted I got a few parts for free from work. 1 Link to comment

ATI hd3650m card, 2.5ghz core 2 duo, dual hdd with primary being a ssd. 4gb ram. Its still a fast computer, been solid since 08. I do open it up every once in awhile to blow out the fan. I have done plenty of 3d modeling(blender and solidworks), PhotoShop and premiere pro. Never a blue screen. Still get 3+ hours of battery life. I never turn it off either. As with anything, know what you are buying. Link to comment

You cant tune anything on a Apple OS, no seriously, %90 of tuning programs wont work on it. For cars they are completely and entirely useless devices. And try CAD or CAM programming on one, LMFAO. You would be better off by miles to learn to use Linux, but even then its not compatible with ANYTHING unless you run a sub O.S. of Windows. To be honest my experience with Dell is similar to yours with Gateway and Acer. The only laptops I will buy are Toshiba, I have quite literally thrown them across rooms with no damage. and had them for over 3 years, each of them. 1 Link to comment
