1979 KPA10 Stanza Hatch

KPA10

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I have posted this picture of the car after I bought it years go.

I installed the new motor and most of the parts before pulling it all down for painting.

It was at the panel shop for about 9 months as I was not in any hurry to get it back as kept saving to pay the bill.

Here is a link to the picture of it arriving home as I am having trouble loading the picture.

As you can see, the underneath of the car has been given the full treatment as well.

I have started on the back and added the earlier model bumper.

Had to dummy fit the rear wheel to see what it looked like against the colour.

Starting on the inside while waiting for the motor to come back.

Will hopefully add regular updates

cheers

Eric

Hi again,

I am really happy with the colour.

I wanted something a bit brighter than the standard and tried a mix of Ford Grabber Orange and Ford Yellow Fire.

It worked out really well.

I have an SR20 DET being freshened up.

Just a basic upgrade with a Garrett 2871R, Z32 AFM, Brian Crower Cams etc

I am hoping for around 280 - 290 HP at the wheels.

I already have a 510 2 Door Sedan with the Old School L Series with webers etc so I wanted to go for a bit more grunt this time.

Well off to the Man Cave to fit some more bits.

Cheers

Got a bit more done over the week end

This is a better shot of the rear mag. It is a 17 x 8 with a 245/35 tyre.

I have customised an air intake to feed cold air from under the bumper through the radiator support into an air box.

This is the new front strut running a ventilated disk and 4 spot aluminium calipers.

Also been polishing the stainless for around the windows. I have to locate some new plastic clips for the screws to hold them on as they were all removed when the shell was sand blasted.

Time to get back into it

A few more pictures

Hopefully will be able to spend a fair bit of time working on the beast over the christmas break.

I have a good mate who has been in the exhaust game for many years.

He did the system on my 200SX and has done a great job on the dump.

This will have competition coating once I have cleanded up any rough spots on the inside of the flange.

The rest of the system is stainless 3 inch mandrel.

Had some fun holding it up to the buffer, gets a bit heavy and getting the angle.

Used hydrofluoric acid to clean the welds and they polished up nicely.

I was lucky to get the original Violet grille when I bought the car.

It has been 2 packed and cleared. I have colour coordinated the centre badge to match the car.

I nearly have all the stainless for the passenger side complete. Just trying to sort out some good rubbers is difficult as not available in Aus and hard to track down.

I am trying to make the best of what I have.

Installed the dynamat on the passenger side over the week end.

Just need to add the fuel line brackets underneath the drivers side as these will come through the floor and then I can finish the dynamat.

More pictures to come next year

Cheers
