Chopper Jim
Ford GAA engine. Used in several different Sherman tanks. My boss here had a 427 SOHC engine we took to the LA Roadsters Show & Swap Meet over 20 years ago. Needed rebuilding for $6000.00, to a guy building a 32 roadster. Never heard if it got finished or not. Chopper Jim 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Ford originally designed it for plane use. I think it's lightweight alloys. Government paid for the research but by the time it was ready the war had moved on and it found another use in a tank. 2 Quote Link to comment
