ggzilla
Wait a minute....Wouldn't a '72 still be a 521??? Early 620s were 1972 models in USA. There was also a 1972 521 truck one of the few cases where Datsun overlapped models. The only other I can think of is the 1973 510 and 1973 610. The 620 came out June 1972 in USA. KlassicMotion
Did you check the battery? Quote Link to comment
red76datsun
used to happen to mine. my hot wire at the starter end would always get loose, gummed up or just loose connection and I was to broke to fix it. new starter and hot wire fixed it. I would say check your fusable link but if the dome light works im not sure. just check all your connections Quote Link to comment

mikeanike99
Did you check the battery? Yeah Quote Link to comment
KlassicMotion
I had the same issue. Mine was a loose connection at the fusible link off the positive terminal at the battery. It was in this mess with all the PO's bad connections: I soldered new wires and a fusible link in, and all was good again. Check these, if that doesn't fix it, move further down the circuit and check for more loose connections. Check the connections at your starter, ignition switch, and fuse block and fuses.
