FiveSeventyZee Posted September 6, 2013 Report Share Posted September 6, 2013 My only input into the debate is that while some FWD cars can be faster than some RWD or AWD cars and vice versa, the fastest of all three setups tend to be purpose built with the car built around the drivetrain to do one specific thing. There technically is no "right" answer because there are so many different forms of motor racing out there and each has its own optimal drivetrain type. That said I think FWD's biggest technical issue is uneven axle lengths. This causes torque steer and no one can dispute that. Yes there are ways to minimize it but it is a technical disadvantage that RWD (and some AWD) car designers tend to not have to overcome. That said...let teh pronz commence... 3 Quote Link to comment
