I passed a Tesla Model S on the highway today....  I've always been told electric cars don't do well in cold climates....  I wonder if there is a cold weather package for the Tesla, or if someone will be very dissapointed in buying one in a month?

I think they got it mostly figured out. They are very popular in Europe, I guess we will find out this year, Were they out last winter?

As much as I dislike the thing, I have to admit, the damn car is sound, in almost every way, I can not dog it, it is a damn nice car.

I almost hate to say that, since I hate electrics and hybrids and all that shite. I like my gas engines, But this is the way things are going so, I guess I gotta take it.

I just got here in May, so who knows.  My wife commented that maybe they only use it for the 5 Summer months, same with the people with Audi R8's, Quatroporte's and the Panameras...? I will keep my eye out this winter and see...

Definitely looks like Lamborghini designed it. Uglier than the Veneo, didnt even think that was possible. Fuck Lamborghini, $300k wannabe with no real racing, or street cred.  Never won, or even entered a damn race in their history as a company (their history as a tractor company?) Buy a Ferarri, or a Porsche, or shit the new Mclaren MP4-12C, that thing is sex.

Just because they may or may not have any racing history, doesnt mean their cars are bad. I drive a 510 and have never raced, nor plan on racing it. What does it matter to me that a bunch of other dudes have?

Now if you dont like the look, then thats completely understandable... that Lambo concept is pretty weird looking.

Its not just the racing, Their performance doesnt meet the price tag. They are also genuinely crappy cars. plasticky, junky cars.

I only care about racing pedigree if am spending over 175k on a car (which I probably never will anyway so who cares right?, lol). I mean the Gallardo, Aventador, and Murcialago, look fuckin cool, dont get me wrong, but thats where the awesome ends for those cars.

I guess thats just me though, I mean your 510, has more racing pedigree than any Lambo ever made though.

So does my Honda, and my 910. I just feel if I am spending that kind of change on a car, the company I am buying it from have to have proven themselves in competitive racing.

OK theres a few companies that make awesome cars that dont race, like SSC. But they also dont pump out cars like they're Honda Civics as Lambo does. They make 100 a year if that.

First I feel like comparing a grocery getter 510 to a super car is kind of silly lol. There is no comparison in any way shape or form, even abstract.

It was important to have a racing pedigree back in the day because thats where these companies got their performance innovations from. Ferrari was a car that was raced right out of the show room and when it was improved upon on the track the next model had the improvements designed into it. There are still some innovations that come from the track today that we see trickle down to production cars but its not like it was. Now you can just put a team of engineers together and they spit out a super car, then they have the beat counters have at it and they set a price and profit plan. For that reason yes Lambos (and others) of today are def performers and well built. Watching top gear you can see a new one every week it seems...

I understand and feel the same way about lambo though. Its a flashy tacky expensive performance car that rich ignorant people drive around in traffic so people will look at them. Yes there are exceptions, some get tracked, etc... but for the most part lambo to me is clown shoes.

While Ferrari is a classy company with a rich heritage.

Thats not true. Datsuns have a very rich racing history just as a lot of other European manufacturers. Neither of which I care about in what makes a nice car for me. Build quality, driving experience, and the such is what makes a car. I dont care if Newman drove Skylines or if Senna drove a McLaren. The history is cool, but that doesnt help me when Im driving to work or cruising on the freeway.

Obviously a 510 is not on the same plane as any supercar... even the cheapest one lol.

A lot of supercars are clown shoes since probably 90% of owners just have them for show. For the record, I would choose a Ferrari over a Lambo any day... but its a supercar for a reason.
