SixSquared
OK... So basically, I have had a LOT of people ask me about the wheels on my car. I've had people offer me money for them, ask where to get them, etc. I don't know ANYTHING about them. And it seems the internet doesn't either. I have googled the hell out of them, and I can't find any info about them. They're 15" mesh wheels with "Z" spinners/knockoffs on them. I can't find any record of factory Z basketweaves, and I can't find ANYTHING about the spinners. The closest I found were 280zx mesh wheels, but they are 5 lug and didn't have spinners. Mine are obviously 4 lug. A guy at the Mitty told me they are extremely rare factory wheels... He actually speculated that they may be the only ones in the country. I refuse to believe my luck is THAT good. So... help me ID these wheels. Thanks! (and no.. they're not for sale! lol) Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
Look like Enkei 92's. Don't sell. No one will offer you what they're worth. They look like they're in great shape. Quote Link to comment
Tristin
Have you ever looked inside the barrels when youve had them off the car? There could be something stamped on them or maybe the remnants of a sticker. Those just look like Enkie 92s with knock-off spinners... which is nothing special. Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
which is nothing special. If original, they are special. Nothing expensive-but not cheap. Old Enkei's are normally marked. Quote Link to comment
thisismatt
Look like enkei 92 Quote Link to comment
Skib
standard issue enkei 92, you can still buy em new. Quote Link to comment
Tristin
If original, they are special. Nothing expensive-but not cheap. Old Enkei's are normally marked. What I should have said is they are nothing special compared to "ZOMG! Super rare factory mesh and only set in the the US!!!!" There are plenty of Enkie 92 sets available... Quote Link to comment
Laecaon
Yea I had a set, no one wanted them. Quote Link to comment
SixSquared
I'll check next time I have the wheels off. Thanks! Quote Link to comment
DREWSDIME
Look like Riken mesh I have on my 510 Quote Link to comment
DISLEXICDIME
the funny thing about 92's people want more for them used then they cost new Quote Link to comment
Tristin
I dont know why they are so "awesome." They are close to the most basic mesh wheel... some people go nuts over them. I dont really like mesh, though if I had to choose one I would pick SSR reverse mesh. It has a cool center pattern. Quote Link to comment
Skib
the funny thing about 92's people want more for them used then they cost new true story lol theres nice mesh wheels, look good on J-tin but there not rare Quote Link to comment
Radim
Cause the new ones are slightly re-designed and of course don't have that vintage authenticity. :P Chances are they're 15x7 0.... ARE also made a version of these that looked pretty much the same just with a relocated valve stem. Ballpark I'd say 300-400$ Quote Link to comment
thisismatt
Yeah, I had a set with at least one bent lip and still sold them for $200 Quote Link to comment
SixSquared
I'm glad they're not ridiculously rare. Makes me less paranoid haha. I'm not generally a mesh fan, but on my car with the spinners they just look right to me. I likes 'em. Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
And that is all that matters. I think they look great! Quote Link to comment
Ranman72
they look good on your car and I am not a mesh fan Quote Link to comment
69srl311
Kinda look mine only in white. Purchased in the early '90s and made by ARE. Quote Link to comment
