H5WAGON
Got all the carpet ripped out...vacuumed and sprayed out....the smell is half gone. :poop: The fun part of getting a junker....stripping it all out for a fresh start... B) After... Now that all the crap is out..EVERYTHING....ants, potato bugs, spider etc. Some of the interior will go back in....all panels may get painted black, the BROWN is killing me. So now I get to strip out the engine bay of all the stuff I wont be using or taking out to paint. Will also be hooking up a battery and testing all the electrical with my son. I noticed I will need at least one new front rotor. And the process of making a list of what I need to get it running and driving. Need to one more good wash on the outside also.....and clean the grime off the windows. Quote Link to comment

ggzilla
Brown is terrible. You can get vinyl spray and make it look like new with a different color. Go with tan, maybe? Quote Link to comment
H5WAGON
Loving your project. New found love for the HL. Thanks! Well I could not resist to do something with the shell....No big hurry to get it finished, but by Canby or Blue Lake is right around the corner. I should make it. Brown is terrible. You can get vinyl spray and make it look like new with a different color. Go with tan, maybe? Black...Vinyl spary! Might do the dash if I get ambisous. one seat is from another newer 510 it's black, the other is brown. I have some SU's that I had for sale, but I might put those on the L16 to work the bugs out. They havent been on a car in some time. The main thing, this car is mainly for fun, with my 12 year old helping me....To earn driving leasons. ....we shall see....lolz Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
So you got 3.5 years to get it ready for driver's permit ... bring it to Blue Lake next summer we need to see it Quote Link to comment
H5WAGON
He will get to drive it on gravel roads before that.....But yes hope to have it driving before Canby. I will have to registar this in Bend, at my brothers place...to avoid smog check. :ninja: Quote Link to comment
DRIVEN
I'll bet you could get it to pass here as long as it was properly tuned and has a working (removable) cat. Quote Link to comment
datsunaholic
'79 doesn't require a cat in Oregon. They didn't have them until 1980 except in California. Quote Link to comment
H5WAGON
Yes I think I saw a sticker in the engine bay that said Cat-Less...... Non-Catalyst 1 Quote Link to comment
RacnJsn95
Love this car!!! Very cool! Quote Link to comment
DRIVEN
Probably true. Even still, a working cat will cover a multitude of other sins. My '79 Cutlass blows zeros through a good cat. Quote Link to comment
H5WAGON
Some more pics of what I'm starting with...sprayed out a bunch of crap from the engine bay. I'm just Rally Dreamin......Need some of those JDM Bumpers! http://www.shannons....9-datsun-stanza Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
92 HP, that's the Lo-po L20B. Worse yet it has 3.54 gears which are slow to acclerate. But you could swap it for 4.11 gears I know a guy that wants the 3.54. Quote Link to comment
H5WAGON
I have another 3rd member from a 200sx that I had from my white car. Need to pull it out tomorrow and look at it. Not sure the gearing on it....Same housing as the A10? 1 Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
200SX ... that covers 3 car series and a half-dozen different axle configurations. I think the only 200SX that is the same differential series as A10 is 1980-1981 200SX. Most had 3.7 but some had 3.9 1 Quote Link to comment
H5WAGON
Sorry I think it was from the 80-81, it had disc brakes.....I love how things just fall into place. 1 Quote Link to comment
DRIVEN
I'd love to get some 3.54s! I'd be glad to trade if you want to get rid of them. 1 Quote Link to comment

H5WAGON
Wish the PL510 front valance came off this easy......Clean and paint behind grill area. Strip and paint Valance. Little projects for my son. The gears will stay in the car until it's running.... Which may be a few months, this is a slow project. Although all I really need to drive it would be a clutch for the L16....And I don't have the L16 yet. Once Draynors swap L20 swap is done, things will move a bit faster. Weather permitting.. :crying: Quote Link to comment
