sr71sss
I would like to know how people are driving their std. cab 620 as I have borrowed a friends std. cab 620 and couldn't imagine driving it more than a half hour at a time let alone a 2 hour drive on the interstate. I'm only 5:7" and I feel really cramp in a std. cab 620 and have been contemplating on getting a King cab and plopping it on a long bed frame I have-reason being is that I don't want to have a post smog frame but want the extra room of the KC, unless someone has figured out a way to install some nice bucket seats that are thin enough so you can recline just a bit not feeling like you have your steering wheel in your lap, I for one need to have a truck that can function as a truck should without making you feel like a sardine, maybe I just getting old but I plan to use this truck to drive from JY to JY and most of my drives are at least an hour or so... conrad Quote Link to comment
motavated
I'm almost 6 foot and boy was I uncomfortable in that small truck. One day I went to the JY and saw a 620 there.... I decided to sit on this particular 620 seat and I was in heaven... It was a new seat!!!!!! Half day off that particular day and went home rather happy! Quote Link to comment
Pacific coast Datsun
Ive owned my 74 620 for a few years now & have no in cab space issues. Im also bout 5'7" & im running 411 seats that sit just below the rear window [low back]. Then again i have LOTS of head room  Quote Link to comment
73super
6'1", 235... I drive mine to work daily. Don't really think about it. Maybe because it has a heck of a lot more room than my Spitfire had. No, I can't stretch my legs out, but it's not bad. I have driven it for an hour or so over to Eastern Washington and back. No problems.. just have to get out occasionally and stretch the ol' legs. Quote Link to comment
BEEBANI
Almost 6 ft. and we'll just say I'm over 200 lbs. and drive it daily for 2 months now and have not probs. I also have buckets in it and a smaller steering wheel. Quote Link to comment
LAYEDOUTB2K
im 5'8" and have been in quite a few 620s and i dont really mind it. i guess im also used to daily driving an L320 with passengers a lot. my friends say it looks like a clown truck. Quote Link to comment
Bleach
I got rid of my standard cab and bought a kingcab a long time ago. :) I think the secret for space is to settle for low back seats that don't go past the seam in the back of the cab. That way your back and head are right up against the glass. Not so safe but it gives the most possible leg room. Quote Link to comment
makya
^ what he said. also, if you change your steering wheel, the adapter will push it back towards you, making it feel smaller. I've had my 75 for 16 years now, and it's seen a lot of different seats and wheels, right now I'm running lowbacks in it, but when I change it up this summer I'm going to highback PRP's for 4x4 use. we'll see how that works with a rollcage.:D Quote Link to comment
datsunaholic
I'm 5'8, and used to it. The KC has more room, but I don't notice it much. I had more room in the 4X4 when it had the original bench, but I stuck 620 specific buckets in it (very thin backs) and it works OK. Bigger buckets (like the Escort GT ones in my '74) make it more cramped. Quote Link to comment
Bleach
you might also consider mounting a small headrest or cousion on the back window glass itself. It'll give a soft feel and in case you ever do get rearended, your head will be protected by the headrest. It will probably crack the glass but better to be broken by that than your skull. sr71sss
Hmm maybe I'm whining about nothing but I would hate to go out and get a decent std cab to be dissapointed, i only like to do things once if I can help it, yeah I had put my 510 momo steer whl today and its a little better but it still too close for my liking. I guess I will stick with the KC project that I have brewing in my head, now all I need is for someone to donate one my way, anything will do as long as it not really rusty or have body damage beyond repair, seriously if anyone has a nice std bed and KC cab that they want to get rid of I will pay good money for it, budget is about $1500.... thanks for all the insight conrad Quote Link to comment

69FJWagon
I am about 6' and I have momo race seats for my 620 and with them just sat in the truck I sit comfortably, But I would also like a KC... just like the way they look Quote Link to comment
datsun dreamer
You can be pretty comfortable in the stock bench seat if you get a good reupholstery job done:) New cushion and fabric does wonders:D! If your looking for leg room, theres no way of getting around that on a std. cab:( maybe a KC would be a better option as far as leg room! Im 5'10 and over 200 pds. and my '74 has a stock bench seat and its not that bad as far as room. I've driven from hesperia,ca. to Blythe(border of arizona) with no real issues:) I also commute a 130+ round trip to work and back from time to time and have no issues about space(Maybe my back a little...Old Age:lol:!). But I lokk at it like this, I love driving my 620....and if it means being a little uncomfortable from time to time......It's worth it!! Quote Link to comment
yello620
I am 5'9" and 190 and drive my std cab daily. Actually find it very comfortable. Legroom is perfect for me, seat all the way back. Seat is right were i would adjust it to even if it could go further. Yes, it still has a stock bench. I think that buckets look funny in the std cab. I've also never sat in a bucket seat std cab that was comfortable. I would not hesitate to get into my truck and take it for a several hour drive, just make a few stops, but i make a few stops regardless of what i am driving. Jason Quote Link to comment
Jtek
6-2 and no complaints here. Had unknown buckets, though. Quote Link to comment
