ol'skoolrob
Hey guys this my 521. I'm new to ratsun and datsuns. I've done a couple trucks already though. I haven't done too much yet. lowered, valve adjustment, clutch replaced, a serious cleaning, and fixed a few electrical issues. Other than that she's relatively mild build so far but i got big plans and i'll nickel and dime it the whole way there. so let me know what you think! when i first got her and now a nice photo op on the outskirts of town my high tech hood release my L20b with the long shaft 5speed 1 Quote Link to comment

ol'skoolrob
thanks eventually she'll be bagged with a built L20 and a couple of side draft carbs but for now b2000 seats and new window gaskets all the way around will be a good start Quote Link to comment

dat521gatherer
Welcome to the best datsun forum on the planet. Now how about a interior pic? I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that your missing the factory clock option. :D Hehe. Quote Link to comment
ol'skoolrob
yes unfortunatley no clock in mine and the dash has a horrid whole for an aftermarket radio so i guess i'll put a cd player in it soon i'll get some pics in the morning so to day i replaced the fuse for my signals and thought nothing of why it blew out then i'm pulling away from the bank and i smell smoke and notice my fucking flasher is melting the hell out of the ruber insulation on the connecter  so in the morning i need to hunt down the problem cuz no signals sucks any clues where to start Quote Link to comment
Royal Sierra
I had that issue. Check the wiring on the front signal housings. Then rear. Its shorting out somewhere..mine was shorting out up front and fried my flasher. A new flasher was $3. Quote Link to comment
ol'skoolrob
thanks i'll check that out out in the morning i got some interior picks for you guys and a few of the interesting wiring some tard did to this poor thing definately need to redo the dash i'm thinking maybe red troll hair.... or maybe not we'll see after a while apperently they tried to wire in a switch for the horn because it has a diferent steering wheel but it never worked for me i will prolly need a new combi switch unless i can figure out how to put this mess back together hopefully i can get this fixed tomorow before work and get my signals working again Quote Link to comment

rustynutz
howd you do the dash like that? Quote Link to comment
rustynutz
how did you originally prep the dash for the bondo? i have to do something similar because my dash pad has a shit load of cracks in it. i want it to be all smooth and nice because the actual dash itself is real clean. ol'skoolrob
i just layed down a layer of marglass then sanded that out and put a layer or bondo as far as prep i just took all the trim off and sanded it a bit to knock down the cracks Quote Link to comment
ol'skoolrob
a bit of an up date got the dash blocked out and primed and put a guide coat on it this morning man that dash was tore up soooooo much sanding!!!!!!!!!!! but its coming along i also sanded and painted the lower dash while it was out  Quote Link to comment
Tristin
Are you in need of any of the door pieces youre missing in the oics? I have blue door panels (passenger has a small rip in one spot), door levers, window cranks, and door pulls (rubber ones). I also have all the mounting hardware for everything. Quote Link to comment

ol'skoolrob
i think i'm gonna paint it for now but once i can decide on an interior material i will most likely wrap it Are you in need of any of the door pieces youre missing in the oics? I have blue door panels (passenger has a small rip in one spot), door levers, window cranks, and door pulls (rubber ones). I also have all the mounting hardware for everything. thanks bro i could use all the handles and hardware but i was gonna make the door panels my self i wanna do like a 60's custom interior something really smooth and kinda fuzzy i'll probably do red and black for it pm me for a price on the door stuff Quote Link to comment
ol'skoolrob
Hey guys i finally finished up my dash an got it installed it looks ALOT better than before but it still has a couple little blemishes oh well here is some before and after pics before and after oooooooo shiny B) there is still a couple of nicks and pin holes so eventually i will wrap it what you guys think too bad it took almost a week i was going through withdrawls not being able to drive it next is seals for the front and rear windows so if anyone has some decent used ones let me know before i'm forced to buy new ones Quote Link to comment
