Unless its an all out racecar, the header long term is a PITA! They wear out, crack, leak, and add little in useable HP on a street car. As Hainz says, install a long tube "Y" pipe. Make the merge near the tranmission cross member and you'll have a system that will out perform a header at mid-range and give up very little at redline (with none of the PITA side effects of a header).
