Ratwagon1600
Nope, not wrong at all. Route which we pronounce root as in, boot, ute, shoot, moot, cute, is also Aussie slang for sexual intercourse, so yep, you were on a fuck bus :) And seeing I can, heres some more terms: Shag, quickie, throw a leg over, hide the sausage, jiggy jiggy, spray paint the womb, have a naughty, bump uglies, have a bang, get up to your nuts in guts. Ratwagon1600
Been slowly watching very small rust appearing in the roof. Suppose it's time to attack it before I forget and move onto something else. Out with the paint stripper. Surface rust exposed. Cleanup done and ready for panel work prior to rust proofing. Big reminder why I need to clean my garage !!! Found a box which I thought had rubbish in it, and discovered this. Quote Link to comment

I was lucky enough ,many many years ago to be taught a little bit about old school body work by a guy who was in my opinion an artist with metal. I'm a self taught master of fuck all, but happy to try anything. Still, learning, and will be for the rest of my life. Tomorrow will be the dayto put a very small amount of body filler in the low spots, followed by a coat of high fill primer. Also will be finishing the shortened oil catch can. Quote Link to comment
Ratwagon1600
OK. This afternoon (for me at least) has been choc full of win! A package arrive from Cali for me (more about that in my repro badge thread soon) thanks to Grayson!!! After letting the Goon languish for many months I've finally got the motivation to tear back into so, race car project which has also been languishing like the goon gets moved. Lo and behold, clear shed space. For a short while till I finish extending the side of my shed, project car will live (with a waterproof cover on it) where the goon is sitting in the following picture. This has a roof over the top so is reasonably covered from the elements. Goon is now where I'm going to be über motivated to work on it ! First job is to pull the diff out and start on the fab work for the IRS conversion. This is a fully adjustable (built by me from the Datsport kit) IRS. Woohoo, I'm excited :) Quote Link to comment
Tristin
Glad to see this bumped back up the priority list for you... cant wait for updates. Quote Link to comment
izzo
Did you paint the roof? Curious to see how that turned out. Quote Link to comment
Ratwagon1600
Did you paint the roof? Curious to see how that turned out. Let's not talk about the roof at this stage, short answer, no. Nicely covered with rust proof stuff at this stage. Quote Link to comment
izzo
^^^ That's good enough for my curious mind right now :D Quote Link to comment
Ratwagon1600
Ha ha, thanks mate, you are easily pleased. Time for less Ratsun posting for Ratwagon, and more action on the Goon :) Quote Link to comment
izzo
Get on it man. Need motivation to work on my blue wagon. Losing motivation and getting burned out. Quote Link to comment
Ratwagon1600
Get on it man. Need motivation to work on my blue wagon. Losing motivation and getting burned out. Wow!, share your pain there Izzo. Reading some of the build threads recently has reinvigorated me to an extent. Sort of got overwhelmed for a short while till I remembered two of may favorite sayings, which are: 1. You can eat an Elephant, you just need to do it one bite at a time, and 2. What would you attempt to do if you knew you couldn't fail? Pussy, flowery, lame arse I know, but, to an extent, 1 and 2 are why the Goon is back in the shed! Quote Link to comment
Ratwagon1600
Not a massive update, but: Diff out, a few relevant bits and pieces undone, and about 10lb of dirt removed from the underside. I'm starting to think full chassis here? 1 Quote Link to comment
jser12
I'm glad to see this get back underway.... Quote Link to comment
Bradinnes
Nice work. I would tackle the chassis at this point. Might as well while you're there. It's a shit load of work (that's a technical term). You'll never regret it once it's done. I'd say that's my 2 cents worth but we've eliminated the cent in Canada. So, that's my plug nickles worth. Ha ha, shit load is one of my favorite technical terms as well! Fuck load is another technical term we use quite often. It's probably a bit of overkill extending the existing front and rear chassis rails to make it a full chassis, but, fuckit! It's my goon and I'm going to be as creative as my tortured mind can be :) Oh and Jser, thanks mate, although surely there are more inspiring builds than my poor little goon? Quote Link to comment
