Oh and put a new third member in fro a 1980 720 2wd. It was a perfect fit in the axle housing and from what I've learned from the guys on here it has 411 gears just like my 79. It now drives better than ever before, it takes off like a rocket. I'm driving it to work tomorrow haha big shock for my boss when i showup in a datsun instead of my b4000

So did some cleaning under the hood. Probably 1/4 in thick of 30 years of crap in some places. Then worked on snag delete stuff. Finally got one of the fittings loose from my exhaust manifold and found out that a brass 3/8 pipe flare plug is a perfect fit to fill the hole. Then found out from mike how to install my electric choke correctly and put that on today. I got tired of the manual choke kit I put on cause it had Clarence problems with the air cleaner.

Well oic time!

Not allot of progress lately. Tuned my carb, set choke, retarded timing back a bit. Started deleting smog crap from exhaust manifold. And picked up a new grille emblem and interior light cover from the local junk yard. And located the 5 speed I want... Need to raise some money to get it tho. Well here's some pics

Smog lines are same size as a 3/8 brass flare plug which are 3 bucks each

Well the plan is to go through it completely mechanically. Then do suspension and rust repair. At some point pick up a 5 speed. Main thing I need to do is make it run good enough to pass deq (only jeeds to pass sniffer) cause it has plates from another state and I want to make sure I can get that done before getting too deep into it. And I always think about finding a nice 620 kc with a bad motor and swapping my motor in along with all my brand new parts and if that happens it will be a donor truck. I also wanna cut the welds where my tailgate is welded shut and make it work again.

I have allot of plans but I'm taking it one part at a time. But I do know if I continue with it I plan to keep it for a long time

The decision is made the long bed will live! Gettin a smokin deal on new inner fenders and core support which I plan to make perfect before I swap them in. Also getting a stock bench seat to recover myself haha that should be fun. And picking up a new drivers side fender to replace the bent and rotten one that's on my truck. And there's more! I plan to get bed hooks off a junk yard truck and re-hook my he'd then cut the welds on my tailgate and mount new latches inside the bed instead of the outside.... That one is a maybe. And after that I need th repair my floors and pay some attention to cosmetics.

Allot planned so I'd better get to it haha

Got my new fender today! It was a Nissan replacement never used because of a small dent.

The solution! Not my first time either haha you stick the hooked part back behind the dent and twist to push it out till it's good enough for a skim coat of bondo

Haha just got home. But got bed liner for my long bed from Adam and it looks great in there. Also got a passenger side fender and a few little pieces. Basically spent the day pulling apart the parts trucks. It was like a mini ratsun work day and it was awesome! Tomorrow gonna get a couple more things cause I just can't get enough Datsun stuff haha
