Custom Painted my valve cover and Steering wheel today OICS

Thanks. I went pretty tame on the exterior paint. So my motor/interior I had to splurge.

 

I used lace. Got a yard for 5.99 at joAnn fabric. :)

 

First layed primer, then HOK strato blue pearl witch chrome flake mixed in. then layed white over the lace areas. Then taped off the lace I wanted to retain and sprayed white over the rest. Wet sanded off the bare aluminum ribs and "nissan". Washed and Then cleared. I debated putting a bunch of chrome flake in the clear, but over white sometimes it just looks like dirt specs when its not sunny. Thought it would look cleaner without.

Did you get this technique from Pimp My Ride?

 

HECK NO. It's old skool mang. Lots of chopper dudes do it. I wanted something out there.

 

Just google "lace paint" for images.

 

Kinda hoping I can find someone from ratsun who pinstripes to do a little on it at canby! We'll see.
