Devon
Unfortunately, I do not have a Datsun 510.....yet. I have always been a Honda guy, Civics, Integras, and S2000. I currently am stationed in Japan and own a 96 Integra Type R, but im selling it since I am leaving soon. I am looking for an old 510 like everyone else, preferably a 4 door. The crappy thing is I am going to be stationed in GA, away from the gold mine in CA. Shipping a car does not bother me if the price is right for the car, so if anyone knows of any 4dr 510s help a guy out so I can get away from Hondas. BTW, this has to be the best car site I have seen, very little B/S, and A LOT of information. Quote Link to comment

The Dat-side
Welcome, and buy a datto and bring it back with you!!! Yup. This takes care of the making it unique part. Bolt some sick wheels on it while you're over there. Quote Link to comment
Devon
Datsuns are expensive over here. I do not think I have seen one for under 10,000, and they arent even in good shape. Quote Link to comment

Devon
Honestly, I am over getting a headache about bringing a complete car back. The military has made so many rules for it, even if it is 24 yrs old. Quote Link to comment
Tristin
What service are you in?- because I have had friends in the Navy bring back cars without issue. As long as you own the car they will bring back one overseas. It was cake. Quote Link to comment

metalmonkey47
Devon, welcome! Glad to see more datto love in Georgia. They surface from time to time on craigslist, so keep an eye out! Quote Link to comment

RedDragons
If you have a smart phone you can get a craigslist app. I am in the same boat looking for a 510 and I have my phone setup with a few searches (rolling chassis, shell, 510, project car, datsun, etc) and every new post it notifies my on my phone. Only downside is with craigslist there is a lot of bs to wade through. Quote Link to comment
Icehouse
Rich had no problem bringing a datsun back with him every return trip. Just do the paperwork. Like Hainz says, even if it's not exactly what you want you may be able to make a buck and fund your datto project by bringing back something else. Now that's something I wouldn't mind our military budget going towards :) Quote Link to comment
Devon
So I have my project 510. I talked my father in law of letting me get his 69 2dr since it has been setting for 10 years. The best part is its free! I haven't seen the car in over a year, but i remember its pretty rough on the outside but he said the floor pans are solid. It also has a cage in it. I am going to ask him to snap a couple of pics of it and send them to me so I can start ordering parts. Quote Link to comment
