Drazz100
My son found this about 8 months ago from a scrap guy who is his friend. It didn't fit my sons92 nissan 4x4 so he sold it.I posted and add for it on craigslist and the guy who has it has emailed me he will sell it. Is this the factory roll/lite bar that was options on a nissan 4x4? Quote Link to comment
Jester
THAT is COOL! It has been a long time since I have seen a 720 light bar. I remember them being black though. Wonder if that was one of the bars for the factory "race" version? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Not factory I think. Could be a dealer dress up item. More for show and mounting lights. Quote Link to comment
KC Phirus
It's one of the factory rollbars. The aluminum rollbar was rare and was found on mid 80's 720 4x4s So yes, it is a factory option 4x4 rollbar. Quote Link to comment
Drazz100
cool, thanks guys.it will be going on my 84 kc tmrw. I do remember there is a label or something on it with japanese writing Quote Link to comment
Drazz100
just returned and tossed it in the back to see what it will look like.Guy tried to remove the NISSAN off the side bars so that will have get fixed once i have the rollbar all polished nicely again. bottom of the bases have the word NISSAN etched into each one so it looks to be a factory original. :) Quote Link to comment
Jester
Just make sure your base plates that you put under the bottom of your bed are at least 1/4" bigger all the way around than the base plate on the bar itself. Quote Link to comment
zack.
It didn't fit my sons92 nissan 4x4 In regards to this, was the width bad or was it just the height difference between the legs that was off? I found somewhat near me and I'm thinking of making it work with my D21... Quote Link to comment
elfirebeasto
Are there specs anywhere for that particular item? Id like to build one, with a spare tire/ gas can mount on the back and maybe 4 lights on the top Quote Link to comment

poopypants720
wow..mine used to have a bar, has proof from old mounting holes on the wheel wells and bed bottom, I'd love to have something like this. Quote Link to comment
lilcricket350
I just ran across this old post trying to find info on a light bar I have on my truck. The picture links are dead here... who here knows any info on the aluminum factory light bar? What year range they came out... Just how rare are they? I've never seen another one..... just curious what they're worth.... Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
It's not really a factory part. It's a dress up item sold at the dealer just like mats, tonneau covers and touch-up paint. Quote Link to comment
lilcricket350
Here's what I'm working with.... I hope this link thing works Mine weren't black like those as far as I know of.... they were just aluminum and the word Nissan was raised lettering made into the casting of the side pieces .... it's aluminum too because I sanded that smooth however each foot pad on the underside has Nissan carved into them. Here's pics from the last time I had them off, when I was painting my truck and trying to get these cleaned up to put a new set of kc's on https://www.imghippo.com/i/bPQqK1708227503.jpg IP https://www.imghippo.com/i/uh1ww1708228141.jpg IP https://www.imghippo.com/i/BdnOy1708227879.jpg Quote Link to comment
jxb003
Here is my aluminum one. I see more steel so not sure how common aluminum is. As far as value I’ve seen them from $200 to $450 (steel and aluminum). Guess it’s worth as much as someone wants to pay. https://photos.app.goo.gl/eChxfUruzbdL3YSv6 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Not seeing NISSAN on the cross bar. Likely this is not a Nissan Dealer dress up part. Quote Link to comment
lilcricket350
datzenmike it's not there anymore.... it being aluminum I sanded it out.. because it was made into that side rail.... raised letters.... but it was there .... it is also stamped Nissan under the feet.... Quote Link to comment
Thomas Perkins
Paint does not stay on Aluminum long.Check out them tool boxes that are black. They look like crap after awhile.Aluminum is hard to clean.I have a tool box,but I chose not to put it back on my 720 after I had my truck painted..It is over 25 years old.Stainless steel is not good to paint either. jxb003
That’s why I’m going powder coat. Hopefully holds up better. We will see I guess. I’ve never powder coated aluminum so time will tell. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Worked at a place that had painted aluminum. There was a bright yellow primer on it first, not at all like red or gray car body primer. For SS try acid etching? or sand blasting then primer the surface first Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
Paint and powder need something to bite on. Doesn't matter what material you're covering, prep is important. We use 60 grit garnet at @ 90 psi to prep for paint or powder. Quote Link to comment
Thomas Perkins
Won't last long. Quote Link to comment
