Siqx20
What the fuuuucckkkk!!!!! Ok so I have been beating the holy jesus out of this lower control arm bolt. Can't get the damn thing to rotate or budge. Been soaking it in rust solvent. Then beat the fuck out of it some more. From the looks of it looks like its a metal sleeve inside a bushing. And the bolt is completely seized in the sleeve. So how can I get this bitch out?? The other one came out super easy. Quote Link to comment
RadioRedline
Not wd40 I hope. What about a gear puller? Radio Quote Link to comment
Siqx20
No its knockerloose penetrant. Normally does the trick with rusted stuff. Quote Link to comment
RadioRedline
Ball pein hammer? Radio Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Well the threads are fucked up now so you'll have to replace the pin. The problem isn't so much the rust but that the metal sleeve the pin is in, is rubber surrounded. When you pound on it the rubber absorbs the blows. Can you get a shim in there on the left side so it can't move? Quote Link to comment
Siqx20
3lb dead blow ball pein. Snap on ;) but ain't doing the trick. Quote Link to comment
RedBanner
I have luck with putting the nut on so its out just past the head of the bolt, and hitting bothe the head of the bolt and the nut at the same time with a hammer, like you where trying to squish it, hut it hard a couple times and give it a shot. Good luck man. Quote Link to comment
Siqx20
Was gonna replace it anyway. No need for them as I wont have torsion rods anymore. So I was gonna pit a normal bolt with a hew head on there. Since I will be having to remove them and put them back ib several times while mocking up my front bags. Quote Link to comment
Siqx20
Dont think I could get any kind of shim in there. Quote Link to comment
Sealik
8 lb maul or sledge hammer. Quote Link to comment
420n620
have you tried heating up the bolt with a torch ? Quote Link to comment
Siqx20
Can u replace that bushing and sleeve in there? That was another thing I was concerned with. If its fucked up can I replace it? Quote Link to comment
Siqx20
have you tried heating up the bolt with a torch ? Trying to avoid melting the bushing. Not sure how easy its gonna be to find another. Quote Link to comment
420n620
just heat up the bolt enough so it can expand, that should break the rust. Not to the point where the bolt is red hot. Quote Link to comment
Farmer
U can buy new bushing for it. There's a thread somewhere on here that somebody made some type of puller to get them out. Made from bolts, nuts and washers. Larry Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
have you tried heating up the bolt with a torch ? Or loosening with a blue tipped wrench? Quote Link to comment

Some u-shaped body shims crammed in to eliminate flex as Mike suggested, and lose the deadblow. They have their place~ and this is not it. If yer gonna do much of this kinda work find yourself a 2-3# brass hammer, and putting a nut on the threads to protect them would've been prudent as well.... Once it's loose your better file off those buggered up threads so they'll pass thru the bushing unobstructed From here on in your greatest tool will be patience.... Quote Link to comment
Siqx20
Well once its broke loose I will just cut the end of the bolt off to get past the Knakkered up threads lol Quote Link to comment

I'm BLUE
I "Think" Kama means to cute as close as you can towards inside near bushing (of the threads with sawzall) ,,, than grab a screwdriver/pry-bar ,,, and wedge it between the bolt head and the bushing/arm ,,, then pry ,,, to break the sucker loose I think ^^ Quote Link to comment

Farmer Joe
hey... take the tension rod off the lower control arm.. the tension rod pulls the LCA forward just a touch when you have it aligned right... undo the bar, the LCA straightens out, and the bolt should come out a bit easier.
