]2eDeYe
Paint sux and flakes off, even that stuf that says "guaranteed" I say send it off for Jet Hot Coating, considering the level of the motor build. Quote Link to comment
Z-train
It's a consideration.BTW-the way you avoided the original question, shows you have a promising career in politics:rolleyes: Quote Link to comment

69FJWagon
I say coat it... but if you cant go black just clean it good with grease and wax remover or something like that and I took a torch to mine to heat it up and burn any left over moister and oil out of the metal. here is how mine looks with H.T. black after a just shy of a year Quote Link to comment
Z-train
Hmmm,my PC guy is going to blast it for me.I might have him run it thru his oven. That oughta bake the $hit out of it. Quote Link to comment
Jester
Heat will REALLY help!! Not just haveing him bake it when he's done, but, give it some heat right before you paint it. It helps the paint to last a lot longer than no heat. It's a trick I use on my 2stroke bikes as well. Jester Quote Link to comment
DatDoug
I use the manifold grey paint on my stock exhaust manifolds. It looks real good and lasts. A little goes along way too. Quote Link to comment

SHADY280
ive had really good luck with vht brand header paint, you need to use the wifes oven tho, and it smokes, but never comes off. ive had it on now for 5 years, no flaking, no fading, no problem. id say white if your doing it old ratrod stlye. that looks period to me. datrod
VHT Works really well. You need a heat gun. Get the header hot when you paint it. And heat it up a little after each coat. Don't go heavy on the paint. when you put it on the truck let the truck run for a couple minutes. Then let it cool. Do that a few times and it will help bake it, That will make it stick better. I did it on a header on my Z car (blue) It lasted quite a few years. Just don't rush it. Quote Link to comment
BEEBANI
I agree, VHT works very well. I paint mine and then run the motor for 1/2 hour or so to really bake it in. I've tried the duplicolor high temp, it worked o.k. but flaked off after a few months. Quote Link to comment
Z-train
It's gonna be white. But i can't find the shop that does white thremal coatings. Quote Link to comment
Bleach
I used the VHT exhaust manifold spray paint on the factory turbo exhaust manifold. Painted it in cold weather. It lasted just fine for over a year of driving. Quote Link to comment
