73dime
I was driving on the freeway today behind a new mustang and as it turned on its blinker to change lanes the tail light did the sequential flash like the bluebird coupe tail lights can do with the sequential flasher. I've heard you can get the sequential flashers from the Mercury Cougars from the 70's to work with the 510. I wonder how hard it would be to use the one on the new Mustang? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVFA-HuikfY Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
My daughter has that but bought is and added later. Don't know if it from Ford or not. You don't want the old cougar one. It was cobbled together using a windshield wiper motor and switches. Quote Link to comment

zerow
And is sooo badass! On a 510, you need to have a multiple bulb setup for the taillights, and to use the Mustang flasher unit, you have to run LEDs, regular bulbs have too much draw. Quote Link to comment
HRH
Meh. What's wrong with the single flasher? I actually prefer it. Too busy having three taillights sequentially flash. Looks cool on the old cougars, with the whirring vacuum sounds, but I'm not that jazzed on the idea. Just more to go wrong later. Quote Link to comment

They are an effective replacement for the old school Cougar and Mustang units. Quote Link to comment
thisismatt
This would be very easy to do with a controller and LEDs, or the same with relays to drive normal incandescent bulbs. You can find schematics online for flasher, chaser, sequencer, etc circuits Quote Link to comment
