xvi00
Hi everyone, the concept of a front bench seat in either a 510 sedan or wagon sounds like somthing a little different. Has anyone done such a thing as to replace the two fronts with a bench, or has a car with a front bench? Keen to see what it looks like and does the height of the front bench seem similar to the rear seat in a wagon. Thanks. Steven Australia. Quote Link to comment
philcas1987
68's have bench seat up front. Thought about it . Figured it would get in the way of the shifter. Quote Link to comment
MicroMachinery
I've seen a factory bench in a wagon. Only once, though. Quote Link to comment

xvi00
I am looking at going auto, so the floor shift with a manual box won't be an issue. Would it be fare to say, a 68 front bench seat would be an issue to track down ? Are there many out there waitting to be reborn. Quote Link to comment
Pedro
You won't find one in Australia, we didn't get a bench front 510 in any model. Only know of 1 car a guy has, it was a jap import 4 door with 3 speed column manual tranny, his build thread is somewhere on ozdat. Quote Link to comment
Gary
hard enough finding nice looking bench seats for just about anything :( column shift stuff might be tricky to find too. its a cool idea and all but 510's handle fair good and if you had a bench you'd be all over the shop. theyre nice but certainly not supportive Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Check the 620. They, or some, came with bench with a clearance notch cut out for the shifter. Quote Link to comment
sssr20det510
finding a 510 bench seat will be pretty hard as they didnt make very many of them Quote Link to comment

Skib
Is that a 2door with a bench seat? looks like a 4 door. you can see the rear door hinge in the door jam of the first pic Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I also heard that Canada didn't get 2 door early cars. Quote Link to comment
Jester
Steve Eperly has one too. It feels so different. A 521 seat should bolt right in as well. You just won't have the ash tray in the back. Quote Link to comment
71DIMER
Our very own thatsoon510 (Hector) has a 1968 RHD 510 4-door with a bench front seat. I don't have any good pics but here's some he has that you can tell it's a bench seat. He'll be at our end of the month meet on Thursday so I'm sure we can take clear pics to show you guys or you can contact him directly and ask. He doesn't mind showing off his dime.
