HRH
Those hubcaps look great, just have to get the Mercury off of them! Wish I still had my 521. Can you get windshields for them in Australia? Or at least easier than in the states? Quote Link to comment
Xander_42
Awesome truck, love the paint, love the hubcaps. How did you do the paint? Did you just hard block the truck, and then clear over it? Quote Link to comment

Did you just hard block the truck, and then clear over it? Thanks Mate, I am absolutely blown away with all the positive feedback. With the paint, I did hard block it all over, then painted the whole truck in a satin red oxide, then sanded all over again (hoping to make it look like red undercoat coming through!), and finally painted a satin clear over the top. Cheers again, Jase Quote Link to comment

Cheers again, Jase Seriously mission accomplished. I totally assumed by looking at it that you had hard blocked the bone color, and discovered the red oxide underneath it. Also, the satin clear is perfect, I couldn't tell if you cleared it, or just finished wet sanding it. Also, on the hood area, is there some like grey primer under the bone color, as well as spots of bare metal? It looks great. I also love the little eye details. They're spot on. Again, nice truck. lachbeth1125
Great job with the paint! How long did it take? Seems like a ton of sanding Thanks Mate, It was a ton of sanding, but as with most things, the first time takes the longest, I could certainly achieve this look much faster the 2nd,3rd times etc. Answering your question, about 18-20 hours of sanding, painting, sanding, more painting. Glad you like it, Cheers Jase Quote Link to comment

lachbeth1125
Thanks Mate, I sanded the original paint all over, rubbing through where I thought it would suit, then I painted entire car satin red oxide, then sanded most of that back off, leaving some areas red (to look like red undercoat coming through), and then cleared the car. Cheers Jase Quote Link to comment
