Yea I'm 90% sure I'll do it I just have to get my dad to understand that these wheels arn't generic mesh rims, they're actually worth 400-600 bucks but he doesn't understand that but by the end of the weekend I should have him convinced.

Actually it was given to me but still it was his idea to go 2jz with my Z. I actually wanted to go with a 2/3rz Toyota Tacoma motor and turbo it because I can get the hook up from my uncle who owns Paradise Racing (Fastest Tacoma motored car in the world). But he knows a guy and the guy had one sitting in his shop so he gave it to me and know I'm stuck doing a 2jz swap (I sound like I don't want to do it but I really don't mind LOL)

Well, the trade fell through. The wheels have been for sale for about 3-4 months and right when I was going to say yes to the trade he tells me the rims were sold. FUHHHHHHH!!!! Oh well I guess I'll get this running and drive it until I get the cash for the 2jz but on the other hand I'm getting a free, and complete 2.7L 3rz motor out of a Toyota Tacoma that is getting a 2jz so I'll sell it and that should give me the money to start the 2jz build

Last night I decided to do a little work to the Z so I pulled off the plenum and the triples, and the triples are super clean inside and so is the triples manifold. Today I'm gonna pull the exhaust manifold, turbo, and the rest of the turbo associated parts. Then I'm gonna clean and maybe polish the triples and the manifold, and put everything back together once I get a header. I'll post some pics tonight hopefully.

No pics yet but yesterday I pulled the remaining parts of the turbo kit off. There's a stripped allen head screw that's holding the last carb to the plenum, so I have to figure out how to get that out and then I can get the triples back on. The turbo is bigger than I thought it was. I figured it was going to be small like a stock SR20 turbo or something. The turbo has Zero shaft play and spins really smooth. Anyway, I'll get pics of everything this afternoon.

Well once again the deal fell through. But I have another deal lined up, and hopefully it goes through. If it goes through, I will be trading my turbo kit and triple carbs for a Boostwerx NA-T 2jz turbo kit w/ a Tial wastegate, 3in. downpipe, intercooler and BOV, Forward facing intake manifold, 90mm Q45 throttle body, 550cc injectors, and a 1jz flywheel. I really hope that deal goes through because that will get me a couple steps closer to getting the swap done. On the other hand, my uncle (the one that gave me the 2jz) came up from Ft. Lauderdale and saw that I didn't have any tools to work on the Z so he went and bought me a brand new set of tools. Next time he comes up he's bringing a 5 speed tranny and drive shaft, a fuel rail, and maybe some 300zx twin turbo rims (for when I go 5 lug). He might help me switch the springs too if we have time. I'm trying to have the Z running and driving by Battle of the Imports next year, and if I can get enough work done between now and Christmas, maybe Import Faceoff. We'll see how everything turns out. I'm doing pretty good in school so my deadlines seem pretty realistic.

UPDATE: Well I'm buying a Mazda Miata in a couple days and I'll be fixing it up and selling it to get money to finish the Z. I'm buying it for $500 and it needs a top, a battery, and a driver side window. I should be able to get 3 grand out of it when I'm done. I plan on putting lowering springs and new shocks, rims and tires, maybe a roll bar if I can get one for cheap, and probably a custom intake. We'll see how it turns out. On the other hand I got my 5 speed for the 2jz, so now I need a bell housing, clutch, and flywheel, then we can start mocking up mounts and what not.

UPDATE: I got a free 5 speed, and Greddy E-Manage for the 2jz. So the swap is slowly getting pieced together for the Z. It will be running by summer hopefully, but we'll see how it goes.

I'm going to pick up my Miata Sunday I'm so excited. There's a whole new plan for it. Me and 2 other friends are building it for the Grassroots Motorsports $2011 Challenge. It's getting a full cage, racing bucket seats and harnesses, turbo kit, full exhaust, and Megasquirt. Our team is called Team Learner's Permit and we're the youngest team to EVER compete in the Challenge (We're all Juniors in high school). I'm going to start a separate build thread for the Miata once we start getting deep into it.

Wow it's been a while. I didn't end up getting the Miata unfortunately, so I invested some money into the Z. I went and bought paint tor black out the whole turbo kit and core support. I'd rather people not know that I'm turbo'd :D Anyway, the valve cover, intake plenum, and intercooler are all wrinkle black. Then I painted the compressor housing of the turbo, and intercooler piping satin black. All in all, I think it looks amazing for $40 worth of paint. Tell me what you think.

I also ordered all new brakes, as in rotors, pads, shoes, and all of the hardware for the rear brakes. I have a new water pump, coolant necks, fuel pump, fuel line, and assorted fittings coming. So there will be progress in the next month or so.

This and purepontiackidss build threads are my favorite z and zx threads,

You plan on lowering it soon. And are you gonna run stock interior, or racing seats?
