flatboy
Oops I ment s256 thanks for catching that andrewhans. The powdercoating elements are just stove ones. Just find the right size to fit your cabinet. shayne 1 Quote Link to comment
denveratsun
Man...I am lovin this build! :D Its really really cool to see you breaking away from the pack and using a Toy powerplant. I'm a big fan of most of their motors. I am gonna have to agree that "ratrod" just simply doesnt work for this machine...  Great pics too...thanks for the updates! Are you going to go any lower with it? 1 Quote Link to comment
andrewhans
lol good call on it being a S256 great turbo for sure. To help improve spool I would strongly suggest redoing your manifold for Twinscroll. I can't remember but I'm 95% sure that's a TS turbo(also on DoD computer, no pics). Keep up the badass work. Seriously cool stuff man. -Dinger 1 Quote Link to comment

collision and customs
Engine ran a tad rough, but threw in some Seafoam, and its smarter evertime I start it now Quick bath and wow! So the snowplow hammered the inner fender well a bit, but no biggy. Its just some nice steel to still work with. little bita rust here, but easy fix I've looked at alot of the work you've done. I do'nt want to worry you buy you should have cut out alot more to repair rust. It's the cancer rust you ca'nt see that will come back to get you. You also took too many steps from bodywork to paint. But in the end it will still be a sweet ride. 1 Quote Link to comment
flatboy
Hi guys, its been a few years since I last looked at the truck much less do anything to her, but with our economic situation in the oilfield manufacturing and servicing I've found a bit of spare time again. I will be updating off and on as the project takes place, thanks for listening. and figure out how to get pics off of photobucket again?..... Shayne 1 Quote Link to comment

flatboy
Something must be wonky on my end, I clicked the img box in Photobucket, it highlights yellow then I right click and copy, then I come back over here and try to get the curser which doesn't seem to come up easy, right click doesn't bring up a paste option, and control V doesn't work either. 1 Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
I have that problem on my laptop. If you are using IE you could try chrome or Firefox. I usually get all pissy and just do it from my phone 1 Quote Link to comment
flatboy
so posting pics has been a royal pain in the ass, had to dig out a 7 year old laptop that takes forever, honestly easier to do a engine swap. I'll try to update as often as I can but guessing its only a matter of time till this computer bites the dust too. here has been the resting place for the last few years, back in the shop dug the motor and tranny back out. 2.4L, 5spd got some help on this project now that my boy is old enough, he is loving the old Datsun 2 Quote Link to comment

The 2 front studs need to have 3 or 4 threads cut off in order to clear the cam gears 2 Quote Link to comment

flatboy
kinda where she's sitting as of today I cut the front rad support out to ease the engine install plus it has major sheet metal damage. I do have a pretty mint frt clip I will be putting on when I iron out the engine, rad, fan and intercooler stuff. tks, Shayne 3 Quote Link to comment
paradime
I'm confused. Where's the "rat" part? This thing is WAY too clean! All kidding aside, that's going to be one beautiful truck. 2 Quote Link to comment

]2eDeYe
Nice work. It's likely the picture issue is due to IE 11. You should be able to use chrome or firefox and the pictures will work. 1 Quote Link to comment
