Eagle_Adam
when we took the goon to eugene this weekend it over heated...... ended up only being able to find this a giant ass receipt covering the entire length of the bottom of the rad :sneaky: once jessi removed it there weren't any more overheating issues  so after talkn to a few people ive come to the conclusion that A. the rad isnt operating 100% B. the lower half must be doing most of the cooling since when it got covered it overheated C. its time for an upgrade Soooooooooooooooo........ Here's the upgrade! picked this aluminum rad up from NismoDr's 610, it should be all that this goon ever needs cooling wise!!!! and i got a Nissan Thermostat to boot cus i can :D Quote Link to comment
izzo
Good job dude. Should do the trick and then some! Save that old rad. Its probably still good but needs a flush from an actual rad shop. Someone probably use it sometime! Quote Link to comment

Eagle_Adam
well....... seems like i have another project to do on the goon :/ not exactly thrilled about it, long story short the alignment shop the goon went to was "nice" enough to adjust the steering box while they had the goon.... and they over tightened it, and now i need to source a new box and install it :( Quote Link to comment
mklotz70
Did it break or just get tight? You can adjust it....maybe get some more life out of it. Quote Link to comment
Eagle_Adam
its not broken mike, and i did adjust it so she can actually drive it with having the wheel ripped from her hands... Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
What's it doing? Too loose and you have to swing the wheel in wide arcs to stay straight. Too tight and the wheel sticks on tight corners and won't auto return to straight Quote Link to comment
Eagle_Adam
no, at the apex of each turn regardless of full lock or not when you go the opposite direction there is a noticeable "clunk" that can be felt in the wheel. As i adjusted it yesterday the "clunk" got better but is still present Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Get the front end up off the ground and watch while having it turned. Maybe there is something else binding? Quote Link to comment
Eagle_Adam
nope.... did that yesterday, you can feel the knock coming from the steering column/box - kinda feels like the joint in between Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I'll go find the one I have when it stops raining. Quote Link to comment
Eagle_Adam
sweet, thanx mike Quote Link to comment
Eagle_Adam
ended up swapping an original fuel pump into the goon, just heard to many horror stories about the aftermarket ones failing... Also ordered the parts needed to finish up the Klotz big break upgrade!!! other than that jessi has just been rocking the goon with no new issues Quote Link to comment
Eagle_Adam
jessi had said on friday that he front breaks were acting up, so sunday night after we wrapped up with my brothers truck and took a look at her breaks... the front pads are toast so we will probably have to do a pad slap before the break upgrade Quote Link to comment
Eagle_Adam
yesterday was the day.... time for a pad slap.... not happy we had to spend the $ on pads just before a break upgrade but oh well.... Jessi mentioned she had never replaced front breaks, only rears... Soooo... i let her do the work yesterday since i was sicker than a dog :D Pads were TOAST! Sooo atleast those are done and the wagon stops correctly again!!! AND some much awaited parts came in today too!!!! HUGE THANX TO D MIKE!!!!!!!!!!!! got the steering box in today, cant thank you enough man! also got the new calipers in for the break upgrade!! just waiting on pads and rotors! 2 Quote Link to comment
