motavated
Got tired of the old flimsy 620 one and I had to find a good more modern replacement. Get the rear dome light of a Honda passport or a Isuzu rodeo 93-97 model. Looks like this one! This is how it looks installed. What you need to do is grind the rear part of the lamp so it could fit the hole like this. Then just drill two new holes and install. Not responsible if you mess yours up! Next week how to fix a broken 620 glove box door. Quote Link to comment
slam_dat_sun
Man that light looks nice in there , looks right at home  Quote Link to comment
Pacific coast Datsun
Adam i love the 620 how to's you post up. And that you take the time at the yards to find the parts & post pics. Quote Link to comment
motavated
No problem man. Just trying to help the Datsun brothers out the Ratsun way. BTW it also has the "door" function in case you want it to turn on when the doors open. :) Quote Link to comment
MikeRL411
Looks almost exactly like the lamp assembly in my 411, should fit 520 and 521 pickups just fine! Quote Link to comment
motavated
Got these door switches from a Land Rover 1995 model? Just one wire like the 620. Going to install them soon just needs one screw and a splice. That is it... Quote Link to comment
Z-train
Not to "one up you",but look at a dome light from a 90 F-150.Dome light and two spot lights. Quote Link to comment
motavated
Nah its cool. Is it this one? I actually didnt like it. I dont know... I just dont like it. I saw it on pintos, grand markies, broncos and f150... Looks to big too. I didn't even try it out. But it could work. Another one that could work is the land rover front dome light. Looks like this. Its flush so it might not require cutting. Here is a good pic. Also maybe the later ford bronco one? Edited October 30, 2009 by Motavated Quote Link to comment
Z-train
yep-that's the one Quote Link to comment
Moedatto
I went to the junkyard and saw 3 Rodeos, took the lights and I would suggest this to anyone that owns a 620! It is SOOO much brighter and cleaner! Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I got the rear view mirror from a 90s? GM Monte or Lumina (whatever). It's the kind that attach to the glass. Looks better and has day/night and two map reading lamps with switches. Wider, only illuminates your lap and not the whole cab, and not in your eyes. Comes on when door opened too. motavated
My light still works great. No fires or nothing! XD Quote Link to comment
cruznude
Hey now, this is a good post. We all know how those dome lights have always sucked. That first one you showed from the Rodeo looks real good. Most the time I like the darkness but when you need a little light, BAM!!! Thanks................ Quote Link to comment
six2ohyea
How did you modify to fit? The backing doesn’t fit into the existing lighting hole. Quote Link to comment
