ArchetypeDatsun
Might be getting another 810 maybe this week it's a 78 sedan, rebuilt engine only needs battery and new gas. Untitled by Muerte541, on Flickr 2 Quote Link to comment
nismosilvia
Starting to redo the front suspension. Strut inserts are shot I didnt even have to use a spring compressor to get the struts apart. Plans are modify cheap ebay 240sx strut tower bar, weld in reinforcements around the strut towers, clean up any rust in the wheel wells which is very minimum. New rubber bushing etc all around and lower it a bit using the clamp tecnique, I cant think of what there called at the moment. Im also going to clean fuel lines, add a few fram g3 filters make a new fuel rail and put in some new injectors and hide as much of the injector harness as possible. Bonus I actually have a real car jack now thanks to my awesome girlfriend a Christmas present that will always be special. I got all this done on Christmas day. The stock metal was thin and kept burning through so im calling it good here ill use some jb weld and sand it to smooth it back out. only rust in fender area not bad for being found by the ocean 1 Quote Link to comment
nismosilvia
I feel bad for the datsuns in the slammed datsun thread. The name should be changed to slammed city slicker datsuns or something similar. I guess the down low crowd really likes driving slow as shit avoiding all those pot holes, speed bumps, and the inability to do anything cool off road. 1 Quote Link to comment

nismosilvia
More progress my buddy got his 810 for ten dollars got it running did some stuff to it but i guess he deemed these injectors acceptable?? Not for me. I bough his/my current motor because it was in better shape then mine and got him to swap it over when he was swapping in a 302 into his 810. Did a nismo power brace style mod tonight and welded up the strut rod attachment point area. I should have spent the extra effort and cleaned the metal better because the wire I was using doesnt like any grime or it wont do a consistent bead. The bar is straight however my car is just sitting uneven in the jack stands currently. Im not sure if this will do anything for the suspension but yolo. The bar is 19 inches long with 45 degree angles on both sides I was in a rush to make it down to the j-tin show last summer did a rush job, This is how not to install sway bar bushings Quote Link to comment

ArchetypeDatsun
Hey hey welcome to the 810 side Dat1977 looks like you got a nice solid start and good luck with the purchase! How much you paying if you don't mind me asking? Quote Link to comment
Dat1977
Thank bro. I'm paying 300 dlrs its stick shift and interior is in good condition. Quote Link to comment
ArchetypeDatsun
Sounds about right. That's the good thing about 810's not many have them so demand isn't high plus there's very limited number of them you just don't see them a lot unlike the other datsuns. When you get it post pics of it again! Quote Link to comment
Dat1977
Exactly why I want it. I have a little 620 and I see a few of them around already. I want something unique that no one in town has. I gotta say I really like the look of your 810. Do u have a build thread? Quote Link to comment
ArchetypeDatsun
I bought mine for the same reason and plus I been having an itch for one for a long time! They are pretty unique it was the last of the old 70's styling before they completely changed. Thanks I'm in love with it! At the moment I don't have a built thread, i do little updated on this thread as you can see also does nismosilvia with his sedan. I bought the car this way last year in march from xlr8r it used to have the square headlights and different grill and he swapped it for the round headlights which I gotta say adds a better touch! I am getting another 810 here soon locally from a guy I know for $300 he's getting it to run first and clean it up. I did put up a write on the how-to write up sections to do a 280zx manual rack & pinion. http://community.ratsun.net/topic/59582-how-to-280zx-rack-pinion-steering-in-1977-1980-810/ Quote Link to comment

captaingamez
Tell me that is not an ebay cheapo steering wheel (cause it looks badass). Otherwise your ride is sick. Quote Link to comment

ArchetypeDatsun
That's the pic from Wikipedia that's a bluebird 2000G6 811 coupe. There's a clean coupe for sale for $1500 more than I'm willing to pay. Quote Link to comment
captaingamez
Cool, and yeah, I love that wheel. It offsets your car really well. Shift knob is pretty funny. $1500 isnt terrible for a clean one. They are just so hard to find not rusted out. Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
I really feel like I need that wheel in my 1200... B) I just wish they still sold the one with the metalflake in it... Quote Link to comment
