79datsun620
What options do I have as far as a stiffer motor mount for my 620 with a L20b can i look for Z mounts,it looks like there is more available for them but will they fit? Thanks Quote Link to comment
Z-train
They are all the same construction, just slightly re-arranged to fit the particular model. Quote Link to comment
79datsun620
I've got a cam and it just seems to flop around lot at idle, and it just seems like it would be better i don't know? Maybe i'm crazy:blink: Quote Link to comment
sssr20det510
dont know if they make it but look into a poly mount Quote Link to comment
79datsun620
Yeah I think they make them for Z's and they look close enough to work.i've got some old 280 mounts i might try them to see if it works. Quote Link to comment
stilltwisted
some of the small oval race track guys just rap high quality hose clamps like {gates} brand ,,around new rubber mounts ,,it adds just enugh stiffness Quote Link to comment
Llittle_Llama
you can always buy new ones and fill the gaps with urethane, not a bad upgrade for a couple of bucks :) Quote Link to comment
DISLEXICDIME
i have this same problem with my dime when my cam lopes my ekgine just flops around like the mounts are busted but they are new ! Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Poly mounts may transmit the vibration to the frame and rattle the car. How about a torque strap or damper? http://www.vertex-usa.com/catalog/product.php?productid=591 The idea is good just don't buy into all the HYPE about them. Basically, you just want a small shock absorber running from one side of the motor and bolted to the frame. Sure as fuck isn't worth $180... but stupid ricers will by any flavor of the month thing. ggzilla
Just go to the JY* and get a honda accord engine damper. Small shock absorber to cut down on the engine rocking. * jewel yard Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Just stretch the bungee from the battery over and hook onto the fuel pump. :D Quote Link to comment

Llittle_Llama
Just go to the JY* and get a honda accord engine damper. Small shock absorber to cut down on the engine rocking. * jewel yard I think it's jewelery...... Quote Link to comment
Icehouse
Here are 2 different ideas http://www.celica-gts.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=12680 http://www.mckinneymotorsports.com/prod_DATSUN+510+SR+SWAP+PARTS Both may raise or lower your engine but I'm sure with a little back yard engineering they will work just fine. I to have seen some L series do quite a dance at idle. Actually mine does to but it's more due to the fact that the carbs are fucked. Quote Link to comment
