  1. Anyone know how to get my t/o bearing off of this..whatever it is? The haynes manual says to use some specialty tool. A tool that no parts store in town has heard of. Auto Zone says the t/o bearing and whatever it's attached to come together, and there is no tool to separate them.
  2. Well things have been slow. Between visits from friends and being sick for a few weeks I haven't been able to get much done. I don't know what exactly I have left to do. Motor is pulled, oil pan and pickup tube swapped. Clutch and pressure plate are installed(hopefully correctly) Alternator is bolted on, but the adjuster arm doesn't seem to let it slide very far down. Transmission has new slave cylinder installed. I need to get the old T.O. bearing pulled and install the new one. I need to pack the new one with grease right? Things I know I need to do: Make a crossmember for the transmission Figure out how t.o. bearing goes on. buy hoses. bolt starter onto motor. I'm getting very worried about all of this because it's new to me. I figure if I get it back together, and it doesn't start, or doesn't drive, I can always tow it to an actual shop and have them ream me. Please no "you shouldnt own a datsun if you cant do this" comments. They don't help. If you have something constructive or helpful to say though, by all means do.
  3. My sister and brother-in-law had his mom make me one for my 18th birthday.
  4. I used to have some sort of poodle/something mix that was a biter when provoked. Anyway he got out one day and some kids up the street decided it would be funny to throw snowballs at him, he snapped at one of them and that was good enough for the pound to take him away and they actually "accidentally" put him down without telling us. They said we could pick him up within 7 days before they put him down, we went in after 2 and he was already dead. An epic shit storm ensued when my mother found out the city illegally killed her puppy. There's some ordinance named after the dog now.
  5. Anyone care to post the whole ad? Assuming it's funny :P
  6. You look like my friend Stephen with a PH
  7. Just mount the engine in your truck bed. :D
  8. Dog looks almost exactly like my Sister's. They found theirs abandoned about a year ago. Same markings, same boxer/great dane head, but theirs has the floppy ears, and looks a bit more like a lab. Just barely though.
  9. Someone post it in here please! I can't view Craigslist at work :(
  10. With that gasket paper stuff? I think I have a roll of it somewhere around here.
  11. Thanks slodat! Sucks they're out of stock though :(
  12. There was a gasket on my oil pickup tube when I removed it from my old engine. Is this an actual gasket or a spacer? I can't seem to find one for sale at Checker or Autozone. Does anyone know if nissanparts.cc sells them and if so what the part# is? :)
  13. Someone post the ad in here! I can't go to craigslist at work :(
  14. Was watching the newest episode of Monk and spotted what I believe is one of those elusive Datsun camper vans. There's one here in town that I spotted awhile back. Sorry for the huge pictures. I couldn't get a screencap to work so I had to use my phone :( Might be a Toyota, but what do I know?
  15. Francis Heights is correct :D I Grew up in Longmont, Littleton, and Highlands Ranch a bit. A lot of my family still lives in/near Denver though.
  16. Ah. I thought you meant 32 red and 32 white. not total. Either way I miscounted on my own flag. It's probably only 16.
  17. I paid $150 for mine. Included materials and labor. I provided my muffler though. They ran it from my downpipe alongmy driveshaft, through the rear xmember, and out the stock location. 2" pipe.
  18. Another Coloradoan...Coloradan? And you live in Edgewater? Near Sloan Lake? My Grandmother lived in an apartment a block away from Sloan Lake for 17 years. Big yellow ones on West 26th
  19. Quoted. For. Effing. Truth. I personally wouldn't sport a big stars and stripes on my hood because I think it looks a bit redneckish. That's a lie. It think it looks extremely redneckish. It's a style. A design. Not an allegience. Although I do make sure I sport an American flag on my racing cars since I am representing my country. I've been throwing around the idea of just a plain white car with a big ol' meatball on the side, but offset to the rear half of the car.
