  1. 521 or 620 or 510 they all look similar? 521 parts catalog pgf on the620.com would say if its a 521. or a call to the dealer. somebody on here should know what models it fits just by looking at it.
  2. look at all the bids and their names. is that the hoakiest shit you ever saw or what? do they think we are stupid? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=280202608799&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=018
  3. wow! thats some crazy news. didn't even know that he drank and/or was sick. haven't seen the show for many months. i'm sure he was a great guy but nice cars aren't built in a week. do you think foose will be at his funeral?
  4. layedout please post the code if you know what it is. all the ones i've seen are blue. what colors did this bet entail and who won??
  5. damn, what are the odds. either option will work. i used an epoxy called liquid metal "cant find it anymore" on a freeze plug that had a pin hole in the middle, looked like it was taking a leak. the epoxy has been holding the hole for more than a year. usually the epoxy ends up not being strong enough for what i use it for. i even stuck some down in a cam tower bolt hole many years ago and had no problems since. dont use the clear on clear epoxy. black on white epoxy is best. there are 2 521 tanks down at the parkland/tacoma pull-a-part. i'm sure shipping would be about $30-35 to ship one from here. i had performance radiator weld up a tank for me once. they did a perfect job and pressure tested it for me, painted too. finding a place to weld up a tank these days is not easy. this was 8-10 years ago. cost about $60. car-part.com lists 11 tanks from 7 different sellers. http://car-part.com/
  6. but of coarse. so my good friend comes by the other day with his 87? supra he just got. he paid a g for it and its not in that bad of shape. he says do you want to check it out? duh!!
  7. hey mike i'd be interested if you wanted to share any 120,220,221,222,223 pics you may have that are not from earlydatsuns or datsuns.com. the only real pics i have are of a copper colored 220 and i have no interior pics of any of them.googling isnt cutting it for me. i cant even find any pic of a 221 at all. post,pm,email them anything. thanks
  8. i like the wood and the rims. now that its staying light out more we can all work on our rigs longer. the weather has been nice too.
  9. i believe the bed is correct. the homework is not easy though with suck few pics. http://www.datsuns.com/modelguide/plg222.jpg http://www.datsuns.com/modelguide/minilg223.jpg http://www.datsuns.com/modelguide/miniplg221.jpg the beds from the late 40's to the 120 220 221 are similar. the truck in the bottom of the auction says 1960 on the license plate but which would mean its a 222 or 223. i'm guessing the plate may be inaccurate or not. that being said, paul's 223 has the same 320 bed as the 222 truck in the auction. according to earlydatsuns.com these pics would indicate that the bed transition was made sometime in the 222 or 223 production in 60-61. 120 1955 220 1958 222 1959 223 1960-61
  10. ahh so its the second notch thats bigger than the rest. tdc on the older l16's. i have webers on both my 521's and wont look back.
  11. careful with those harbor freight taps. the absolute worst thing you can do is break off a tap in a hole. i buy mine individually from tool town or tacoma screw.
  12. http://cgi.ebay.com/1960-DATSUN-PL211-1200-4DR-P-U-Windsheild-glass-320_W0QQitemZ250217247197QQihZ015QQcategoryZ80740QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  13. nice truck i hope someone puts it back to original. removable trans tunnel is cool. women please get out of the way i'm trying to look at this truck!! there are many other sites for you to show/flaunt yourself on:fu:. at least stand next to the damn thing. i suppose she does make a good hood ornament though. only 300 made. where would one find a windshield for this thing? have one made? that thing must be hella hard to find parts for. i hope for the buyers sake it shares parts with the 320.
  14. head bolt hole on the block huh. seeing that the bolt goes in like an inch i'd just tap it and test fit a bolt in it. should be easy. i dont know what size tap that is sorry.
  15. yep thats what a tap is for, fixing or making threads. what hole are you talking about? tower cam? ball stud? manifold?i stripped out a cam tower once and just put some epoxy or jb weld i dont remember. sometimes just taking those tower cam bolts will take the threads up with them for some reason. i've tapped out every hole on my truck to its original threads even when i have broken studs. i drill then tap to the original size. i refuse to use heli coils. i'll use the next size up bolt if i can. just make sure the tap goes in straight and it should find the right path.
  16. no tool boxes!!! wtf!!! they're too fuqing lazy to look into peoples boxes as they leave. how about a wheel barrel with a million tools laying in the bottom? most people in cars cant show up with a wheel barrel anyway. i cant imagine going back to my ride 15 times to transport tools i'm just bitchin cause i have to have every tool in my box so i dont have to go back for something.... mostly complete standard and metric wrench and socket sets, pliers, hammer, screwdrivers, ect. i got caught needing a star bit and had to borrow one the other day. it seems no matter how many tools you bring your still missing something. i even carry a can of wd-40 in my box. a hacksaw too. of coarse if you know what your going to get then you can just take the tools you need. i suppose it could be worse. is it true that east coast yards dont even let you in the yard for insurance reasons???? i see some people at pull-a-part with no tool just bumming off everybody. thats the down side of carrying a bow, everybody starts bumming off you. my dad always said there should be a vending machine up front with tools in it. they'd make a killing.
  17. i'm sure there is a ton of those 4 speeds sitting in member's back yards. post in the wanted section for that piece. you'll have to take the eight bolts off the tail and the 1 big nut to the drive shaft flange and slide the rear tail back about 4 inches or so to replace that piece. or as the book refers to it as the rear extension.. i dont know if you can do that with it in the truck. maybe if you support the trans and remove the mount and cross member. i dont remember if the cross member is removable or not. ok i just looked and it's not removable. you still ma be able to undo the tail and mount and slide it back far enough to remove that piece. you might just end up pulling the whole transmission out. i dont know if i'd have that piece welded up. i hear welding aluminum isn't easy. try to find that piece or another 4 or 5 speed to swap out. you think your spelling sucks. cheiit.
  18. blows is a understatement. you cant use 3 letter words which means you cant search by model 320, 520, 521, 620, 510 ect. just forget about searching with datsun model numbers. lets see how many other important 3 letter words can we come up with? w53, 210, a87, cap, bed, box, new shit i wont even use the search option anymore. the one thread i wanted to find by 71-521 was titled something like "223 or not 223". not 1 four letter word in it, not his fault. i had to look up 15 pages of his posts to find the thread.
  19. someone took the tailgate hooks off the bed side of mine too. i just got a pair from the yard i'm going to have welded on. banging those things off were not easy.
  20. nobody moves anything on this site trust me. nice headlight things i dont suppose they have a brand name stamped on them anywhere? i personally would have kept the hooks.:D
  21. that sucks about your hood. here how about i help you out with a pic. the pin you want to remove is held in by a small black roll pin that looks like this but about half the size. you'll see it on the top of the aluminium housing. it's a pain to get out. i usually use a tiny drill bit and pound it out or a tiny allen wrench and pound it out. welcome my friend.:)
  22. around a year ago my l16 was was fouling out plugs every week. i swear the oil was dripping right off the valves. so i had bought a weber dgv from evilbay for around $100 and finally decided to try it out and low and behold i'v not had any plugs foul out since. and thats with a stock ignition. still burned oil like hell though.i would love to try my matchbox but i dont have a pedalstal:( i think hainz said i could use a c-clamp just to try it out.:)
  23. oh do tell and show those bushy pics:D
  24. well said now where do i begin. that interior is awesome. i dont think anyone on any datsun forum has a 320 that original with that many miles in that condition period!! just look at the paint on that thing. all it needs is the rims to be painted to match and some steering wheel work and you have a instant show winner. 8000 miles. the truck is over 40 years old and has less the a year of driving on it. do we know what year it is? i'm dieing to see under the hood. possible original spark plugs, wires, fuel filter, points, cap, oil filter, air filter, maybe even the oil in it is still original. are those tires stock? damn i bet the spare is. thats museum quality. modifying it in any way would be foolish. a true time capsule. barrett jackson. now that will tell us what it's worth.:D hell if i had the money i would consider 15-20 g's. as soon as someone repaints it for a rebuild even the same color it will be worth only half the price. repainting on something like this is a big nono. i'm almost scared to know what becomes of it. thankyou datsunfreak, now thats the shit i'm talkin about:) sweet.
