  1. yes after i make sure it works and lines up on the plate i will take the dremel and drill to it.:)
  2. yeah mike that looks like the base pedestal i need. interested in parting with the base or the whole distributer? hainz i'll try route number one. thanks. side note-i recently noticed that my wires to my coil were backwards the positive and negitive. doesn't seem to make a difference although it seems like it should.
  3. thanks hainz i'll try the c-clamp. if i run original coil and wires on my 71 521 l16 do i not bypass the ballast resistor?
  4. it took me a while to locate a mount/pedestal for my dizzy. now that i have one the advance plate doesnt match. anyone know what model this plate goes to or if its correct for this dizzy and i need a different pedestal? dizzy is a d4k9-08 from a hl510 1980 z20s according to the620.com pedestal is from a 1980 720 am i correct in assuming i need either a 510 pedestil or a 620/720 mounting plate? if you have the part i need i'll kick down some duckets for you. thanks
  5. loosin the carb nuts and lift up the carb to see if the throttle closes more. if so then you have a binding problem in the throttle mechinism or butterfly valve. this happened to me once. good luck.
  6. i love my bed hooks but strapping anything down that is small is a hassle. those look great. wanna sell them to me?:D any idea's for the tailgate side of the bed?
  7. tdaaj, i know a guy thats had his 65 stang since high school. i'll ask him if he needs anything or wants any spare parts.
  8. simple ones would do or even some cooler ones with some of fisch's art work.
  9. good eye mike. i can almost see the grin on your face as you read that. will someone with some with some know how please make up some ratsun business cards so i can quit writing shitty notes on shitty paper and leaving them on their windshield. that would be some good publicity and i wouldn't have to search for words to write down unless i really wanted to. i'd pay for a stack of 50-100 cards.:)
  10. are you worried about the amount of smoke coming out of the tail pipe? add thicker oil. i've used the pennzoil or quaker state 50 and 60 weight. and no it doesnt clog anything. 60 weight is about as thick as 30 weight was in the eighties. has anyone notice how 30 weight pours out like water? it didn't do that 20-30 years ago. people always tell me that today's oil is better hence it's thinness. if your worried about blow by out of your valve cover just take a long hose and run it down to the ground behind the starter. if your engine fouls out #4 then get a anti fouler adapter or put on a weber. i had to clean my plus once a week until i put on a weber and then i never had to take then out again. don't know why.
  11. any time the pedal falls to the floor and there is no leak its the master cylinder. or you've popped out a wheel cylinder which would make a mess.
  12. if you suspect the adjusters just count the clicks. adjust the tire til it doesnt move and count the clicks that you back off. then the next time you check them you will have a reference of how many clicks til the tire stops moving. if you dont hear any clicks you have a problem. i think your bleeding the master cylinder by adjusting the wheel cylinders in and out. definitely a master cylinder prob i think. good luck.
  13. yeah pop the center cap off and there will be some screws under it. the plastic style horn bar pushes down and turns counter clockwise. let me know if you want to get rid of that horn ring.
  14. crabby how about some pics to spark some interest. what engine?
  15. mike, your truck is really cool and you do great work. i cant believe i haven't commented on it yet.
  16. yes the 520 seems to be super rare for some reason?
  17. from the outside i'd say it's worth it. interior and engine bay pics would be cool.:)
  18. awesome, was this a suprise or did you know you were getting it? looks great. one day i'll have one of those. interior and engine pics please.:)
  19. your killing me. downshifter, upshift your profile so we dont have to guess what the hell your working on.
  20. sweet 71 i presume. is that a factory fuel door lock? if so how about a close up of the outside of the lock and inside. looks like original paint, with a shiner on the left upper temple. dash pics? nice bumperettes and you have the stock mud flaps.
  21. good going i think i'll buy a new one myself. not knowing how much fuel or what your engine temp is sucks. recently i was driving my hornet and i looked down and my needle was missing from my fuel gauge. i figured it fell off. when i shut the car off i saw the needle appear from behind the full line and fall to empty. now i notice when the body flexes like going in and out of parking lots the needle starts acting up. i hope i dont find a can of worms on this one.
  22. the blue/white comes from the e1 relay behind the battery. i think the e1 relay runs the first set of points and the e2 relay (above the coil) runs the second set of points. on a dual point dizzy. however you dont need the e2 relay or the second set of points to drive,
  23. are you still updating your flickr pics? if so i would like to see the 521 dash, valance and 620 mud flaps as i will not be going to canby.
  24. when i do a complete wire harness swap the first thing i do is take some cheap labels wrap them on each wire and write on them where the wire goes 2nd i remove the old harness and line it up next to the one i'm putting and go down the line and make sure they are exact and have all the same plugs ect. replacing any plugs or wires thats needed from the old to the new. tweeking each plug end to insure i good connection. looking for corrision in the plugs. i did a 77 620 last year and even though it aint rocket science they are way harder then the 521's if your donor harness isn't a 77 you will have some trouble. and yes the 620 wiring diagrams are crap compared to the 521. the 521 wiring diagram is so easy a cave man can do it.
