He hasn`t done shit to his wagon but he has helped his little brother prep his car for paint, well ,, as little as possible but still.. If your looking for Datsun oics turn away now ,,, TURN AWAY!! They`re all gonna laugh at you!! This was " Doodies old car " ,, but his brother is almost old enough to start driving on the highway legally.. :ninja:.. and is taking over ownership.... The car had hand size rust holes on the bottom corner of glass and 3 -4 inch holes along top of fender .. We/ i glassed them from the backside and then we added bondo........lots and lots of Bondo.. Car has hauled a few Datsun engines and went to quite a few meets before he got his Wagon,, and that is more than i can say about most of the members cars on here ,,,, so. Makin body lines with Bondo ,, just like Chip.. there is no metal under about 80% of that filler there,,, just 8 layers of heavy fiberglass mate saturated with Por15 It is smooth-er-ish enough for paint now ,,but this picture was from yesterday,,,

Ok,, there is one that has everyhing to fix her, in a pick-n-pull junkyard north of Seattle Wa., but that might be kind of a long weekend drive from Misssissippi.. I am diggin the looks of your wagon ( even dented ) .

I have been playing with Por15 on Alberts celica and my opinion is Por 15 is overrated ,, it`s just a rubbery covering but it is somewhat advertised as rust converter,,,, but it by itself,, doesn`t convert rust or even stick to it that well... .....Although if you buy $150. more of their cleaners and metal prep-ers . :hmm: .. As my late 85 year old father-inlaw would say .. "Well piss on that !!" ........ :sneaky:

There`s quite a few of those running around here still and they definetly get more than a few admirers when we cruise together.. Fix one up and maybe it will grow on you ,, with a stock seat they are actually pretty roomy inside..

My sons is not jerry rigged it works correctly,,, it`s my crap pile that has the half-assed wired open carb... :D My sons is a stock Hitachi which when set right ( shear luck ) is probably one of the best over-all carbs ever...Although if not are complete garbage ,,,,, no in between.. :confused: Mine is a bastard Motorcraft 5200 Weber off a Ford 2300 engine and because of the many variations, i didn`t have the choke parts to make work correctly ,, so i wired the butterfly permamently open... So it has a hard time when cold ,, but after warm up runs and drives perfectly normal. But i drive mine for fun so waiting a few extra minutes for it to warm up isn`t like a daily driver.. Yours looks like a "normal" Weber so you might be able to scare up some linkage easier ...might. (edit) ,,FYI ,, i was totally joking about the your welcome thing... cuz i am wrong 90% of the time when i guess at a members problem.... or more.. :rofl: . So i was basking in the glory of my one correct answer..

Yep,, like we said the choke wasn`t working.. your welcome. :lol: It seemed like you were over thinking the problem ,,,As were a few parts changers on here ,WTF`s up with that?? but i digress,, just how you described the start up it sounded like a choke because like i said mine is wired open and starts exactly like yours does.. ,,,,just remember to keep it simple ,, my sons car just like yours, starts every time even in sub freezing weather because it has to get to school everyday ,, it it didn`t,, the first thing i would check is the choke. cuz that is usually the only variable if it works fine in every other way except on start-up. ... and that goes for hot or cold engine.

[ :rofl: Personally i would go with that profile pic, maybe it will grow on you,,sometimes it is the picture you remember when someone introduces themselves to you, in real life, or your talking to a member in real life about a thread or discussion that may pertain to their cars (or trucks) and can`t remember names ,,, you describe the profile pic. and it`s like "oh yeah i remember that thread!" But if you must,, you could load the picture into photobucket then use editor to resize and save it that size... You can sometimes load it to photobuket then save it to your desktop and then when you load it as profile it might have shrank it enough to work..

What kind of trans does this have to come out of ?? does a stock 4speed one fit in the 5speed you have?,,,, I'm not saying i have one but don't want to pull them all out to look if they don't fit anyways..

Like he said ^^^ sounds like the choke isn`t working properly when cold .. i have no choke ,, wired open because i can't afford good carb,, and it starts exactly the same way..

Everything Datsaholic said ... try looking up a 77 200sx it should have the right one..
