I just paid $185.00 to register a $1000. car about a month ago.. Our taxes are slightly lower than King county taxes are. And as of Feb 18 you have to buy plates and tags even if they (plates and tags) were bought by previous owner just before you purchased car.. Federal Way is in King county anything 25 years or newer has to pass a smog test ,, i would go 26 to be safe. Don't know where any good cars are though.
