Thanks guys! This is for a resto shop commercial account I have at AZ? We've matched so many stupid parts for them. In fact, I've even found a dizzy cap for their forklift which turned out to be a Pinto motor... lolol
Sadly, the part number rusted away with time! This thermostat had to be about 30 years old.
Summit's actually about 30 minuets from my store :P And of course, were no help. The part they showed was the same thing I showed, and they had about an inch larger diameter then what I needed.
Yessir! The in-hose type. It looks similar, but may work. I'll have to get the diameter and call them in the A.M.
The guy restoring it mentioned that flathead V8's commonly had cooling problems. Dual water pumps, dual thermostats, etc. LMC truck even had the thermostat listed in 3 different temperatures, from Summer-Regular-Winter selections.
My store actually carries little ricey parts :P Autozone doesn't even sell spoilers anymore. Thank GOD...
I finally was able to narrow it down after taking some measurements with a micrometer to some I had on the shelf!
